I am so mad ...........if you have a pet your gonna kill it if you leave it outside. Why??????????????????????????????do people have animals and they dont take care of them the right way?heres the deal tomorrow go sit in your car with the windows cracked, and see how hot it gets. Then go sit in your back yard ( bricked fenced) for the same amount of time and I bet you will answer this blog. If you dont really  care about the pet you have and wanna get rid of it email me I will find it a GOOD home.

Pepper are you sure the dogs are just left outside? I have 3 dogs who have access to the house and yard via a dog door. 2 of them prefer to be outside, even when I call them in, they go right back outside and lay on the hot patio right where the sun shines directly onto them. I put a blanket outside for them to lay on, but they have pulled it off the concrete and only lay on the blanket when the sun doesn't hit them on the patio. Occassionally I will find them laying in the shady part of my backyard but not very often.

Then again, maybe it is cooler outside as I haven't turned the a/c on yet.

Certain breeds CANNOT be outside for long periods of time. Those with short snouts (Boxers, Pugs, Bull dogs, Boston Terriers and French Bulldogs) They do not have the ability to cool themselves off like those with long snouts. Therefore they they can become sick with heat stroke or death in a shorter period of time.

I work outside all day. I keep my house at least 90* in the summer. My dogs have shade w/ misters (operating when really hot), are free fed, have access to unlimited water and even their very own wading pool. They have over 6 fenced acres to wander. I think my dogs have it better than myself. I don't get to lay in the pool and eat all day.

It's a dogs life!

I couldn't agree with you more Pepper, exspecially the part about leaving your dogs out in the car! Nothing ticks me off worst than to see a dog left in a car in when it's hot out while the owners are in a nice cool store, taking there sweet time! Be aware that if the dog is still sitting in the car when I come out of the store I will call the police and the store to make an announcement over there intercome.

Pepper...are you upset because dogs are outside or left in vehicles? Pets left in vehicles in the hot weather is already a crime. Only an idiot would leave a child or pet in car.
