The second confirmed rabid skunk in Maricopa in as many months. Everyone needs to make sure their dogs and outside cats are vaccinated. There is the low cost vet that comes to the Stage Stop. Only a few dollars can save your pets life! Horse owners, your horses need rabies vaccines as well. They can purchased online and you can give them. Only dogs must be given by a licensed vet. A 5 dose bottle is less than $15!

Does anyone know when they come by Stage Stop? One of my boys is due next month for a shot.

They will be at Stage Stop on 5/23. Get there early. Start at 10, gone by 12 usually.

I can find my last receipt, but prices are way less than a regular vet. I think for like $15 for the rabies and office visit.

How long does the vaccine last? Is it a year? I had Mr. Mutt <------ vaccinated (yes, at the Stage Stop, they're awesome!) in September when I found him. Should I go again just in case?

I took both of my dogs to the clinic they had in the parking lot at City Hall when they first announced rabies was a problem in the area. I am sooooo glad. Because if some rabid skunk had bitten my poor dogs and they had to be put down because I didn't take the time to get them their shots, I would have just felt awful. Please, please, please, vaccinate your pets. I think it only costs $15 per animal. It wasn't a lot, anyway. YOUR PET IS WORTH IT!!!!

I was told by my vet last week that rabies vaccines are good for 3 yrs.

Dogs are vaccinated for rabies when they are 4 months, then again in 1 yr. After the 1 yr booster, they are good for 3 yrs. If you have a dog that you have no vaccination record on, it will be vaccinated, then done again in 1 yr. regardless of age. Then you are good for 3 yrs. Keep your vet records, because if your dog is bitten by a rabid animal or if your dog bites someone, you do have to prove it has current rabies vaccine! editied: for sticky keys.

The first one was in Thunderbird Farms South. It was between Thunderbird and Warren on Flamingo. I have a call into my contact with AC&C to find out where the most recent case was.

Everyone in the Thunderbird Farms, Papago Buttes and Hidden Vailley need to make sure their pets and horses are vaccinated for rabies. There have been 2 confirmed cases and possibly a third. Rabies is fatal. If your animal is bitten by a rabid animal, it will be but to sleep.

A third rabid skunk has been confirmed. Please get your pets and horses vaccinated against rabies. The clinic at Stagestop (near Experssmart) will be doing low cost vaccines on Friday, May 23rd from 10 to 12. It is first come, first serve.
