Just wanted to write and say how very happy I was with the new Happy Tails groomer out here in Maricopa, located at the big red barn by the RR tracks. I have always had the same groomer for many years because my terrier Trouble is... A LOT OF TROUBLE TO CLIP! Anyway, I ran into a situation where I had to go out of town asap and needed to take her with me. Her coat was raggedy from the winter and from wearing sweaters so I and needed my hard-to-clip old lady to be groomed asap. I have been turned down by so many people before (without even meeting Trouble) because I told them she gets nervous and sometimes will try to bite. She was a rescue dog and was previously abused so she just needs someone understanding and patient to make her feel comfortable. Because of this issue, I never ventured off from my Chandler groomer but needed to take a chance this time! I spent almost an hour talking to the groomer and explained my situation and my dog's special needs. Instead of dismissing my dog without even meeting her or giving her a chance, she proclaimed that she "likes to work with these kind of dogs so she can build their trust". So I took a chance and had Trouble groomed. When I came back, she was not shaking like a leaf on a tree like she usually does. She was calm, but happy to see me and looked beautiful!! So, just wanted to take a minute and share my story, as I know other people out there have hard-to-clip dogs as well. This groomer was gentle, and compassionate. She did a wonderful juob and I just wanted to say kudos to Happy Tails! I told her I would recommend them by word of mouth, seeing that they are not yet advertising. I know I have found my new groomer!! |
