Different people have had other experiences, but I LOVED Banner Desert. I was a little worried about it being so far, but since I went into labor at 1am, there wasn't much for traffic.
The thing that started to stress me out when I was there was that each nurse that came in had different instructions for nursing. I just decided to listen to what they had to say and then do it my own way. I was less stressed after that! I especially loved the little kitchen they had stocked with food. I think lots of walking really helped me feel good too. My little guy spent his first night in the NICU due to low blood sugar. Just hours after he was born, I marched myself in my gown, robe, and slippers right up there. They insisted I use a wheelchair, but I refused. I think that really helped me a lot. I've had two years with the first one....time to start working on baby #2!

I am due with our second child the end of april begining of may! We will deliver at home, with a wonderful midwife and doula. I delivered my first at Mesa General and had the most horrific experience that no other pregnant woman should ever have to deliver in. I have been with my best friend while she delivered two of her children at Chander, wonderful nurses and doctors!

Mesa General is just a bad hospital in and of itself, I'm so sorry you had a bad experience! I can't believe that place is still open.

I thought the hospital closed a few weeks ago....BTW, I am expecting too. My "pee stick" came out positive 2 days ago! I don't know what my due date is yet, it is very early and I am going to see my ob this week. I already have 2 girls (a 2 yr old and a 7 month old)

Congrats to all the pregnant families. We too are expecting our second baby boy the end of February. He will probably arrive sooner, as Im a high risk pregnancy. We hope to deliver at Mercy Gilbert though our doctor, Dr. Wickman here in Maricopa, doesnt deliver there. Best of luck to everyone <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Hey, I guess I need to add myself to this list as well! I'm due first week of May, so I've got a ways to go... but at least the "morning sickness" is subsiding FINALLY!

BTW, there is a Maricopa "New and Expecting Parents" meet-up group starting this month. It's on the 27th at 7:00 PM at the Oasis Life Church. You can go to http://newparents.meetup.com/428/?gj=sj5 for more info.

Found out my due date....June 18th. It seems SO far away! The morning sickness is pretty bad lately. I can't wait for it to subside.

Mine didn't subside until week 24, and that was after many trips to the ER for dehydration and home IV treatment. I still take oral anti-nausea meds, I'm 30 weeks now.
If the old wives tales are working to keep your nausea at bay, don't hesitate to contact your dr. They can help!
