Yes, the bug guy cant come spray for them but when you get rid of the crickets and spiders then you get rid of the scorpians. Thats what our bug guy told us anyways. We had some weed bushes out back and he said to get rid of them and that will cut down on spiders and in return that will get rid of the scorpians. Scorpians are more scared of you than you are of them. So as long as you arent messing with them they are not going to attack. Also, most of the time when they do attack and they see you are such a large creature they will just pinch you. They dont like wasting their venom, especially on something so large that they know isnt going to be food.
I finally got my husband to give up his scorpian so now he has a trantula! The other day he fed it a baby mouse, it was the sickest thing I have ever seen. It went straight for it and sunk its fangs into the back of the mouse's neck, then for two days it sucked everything out of the mouse just leaving behind a carcass. Sorry, just thought I would share. I cant stand all these critters he gets. And he is mean he insists on keeping them in the office so when I am on the computer I swear I can feel them looking at me. </div> Yuk now he moved on to spiders! I can't stand either. I am still soooo afraid in my own home, I just think it is due to the fact that I am very allergic to bees. I am afraid of what could happen to me if I were stung by a scorpion. | | Live every day as if it were your last and smile!

Alert | My husband was feeding the horses three days ago and upon opening a new bale of hay was stung in the pinky finger by a scorpion. He said the site of the sting burned, and his hand got tingly like pins and needles when your foot falls asleep. The tingling proceeded up his forearm and down his back til it reached his feet. It took about 5 hours for this all to happen.
We called the 24 hour nurses line through our health insurance and they told him to watch for eyes rolling up in his head, muscle spasams, trouble breathing, and throat closing. They also had him call poison control to report it. The # we called is 1-800-222-1222. Very good to keep handy if you have kiddos. Poison control told him if he was a child he would have to go to the ER immediately.
He still has pain in his pinky finger and some slight loss of sensation (the venom is a neurotoxin) but it is slowly returning to normal.
