 Alert | My soon to be 7 year old has never been dry at night so we are using a bedwetting alarm. A sensor attaches to his underwear & the alarm portion attaches to the neck of his t-shirt. The moment he starts to urinate this alarm blares & I quickly wake up to help him to the restroom. The alarm goes off usually 2x's per night, so far, but he is starting to wake up dry after the last alarm. It sounds like an odd process but I think it is starting to help!  My son is quite motivated & he choose to try this system, which I think is very important. Has anyone else had success with this system? | | | |

Alert | | I have the system but our Dr stated that if it runs in the family. my son would prob;y out grow it the same time his father did around 9yrs old. I'm not big on wakeing all the rest of the house to change sheets and clothes to get him to go at night. I have 2 other kids one not yet potty trained and the other is older and never had the problem. I'm glad to hear that it's working for you. can you keep us informed on how long it takes. it would be great to know. | | | |

Alert | Hendersona - Yes I am a bit tired  but I am willing to try as long as my son stays motivated. If you are waiting for your son to grow out of it does he just wear good nights/pull-ups? My son has a tough time wearing them since he feels they are too babyish for him. I, too, took my time as a kid having dry nights so I'm sure he inherited my genes. I will definetely be happy to annouce when & if this systems works! I am hopeful! | | | |

Alert | If he needs to 'outgrow' it, and it will not cure the problem, then the only purpose of the alarm is to tell everyone immediately when he needs to urinate.
That may get real tiresome after a few months.
After that you may want to try various types of nighttime pull-ups for a brand he is comfortable with.
His doctor could examine him and if there are no problems could talk to him and explain that as he matures the problem will go away.
Coming from a long line of bed-wetters, I understand the frustration and embarrassment he must feel. Some of the boys in my family did not outgrow it until they were 12.

Alert | I appreciate all of the feedback, except for the folks who need to joke around. We have all been very tired & been sleeping thru the alarm! When I asked my son what we should do he said it's making him too tired & he just wants to stop using the alarm. I'm quite happy with his decision & am looking forward to a good nights rest! We'll just let nature take it's course & use pull-ups until his body is ready. | | | |

Alert | Our son just turned six (today) and still wets at night regularly. Our Dr recommended that system, for when we are ready or think it's the right time. For now, we're just doing pull ups, and will watch to see if it becomes less frequent.
As far as pull ups, have you seen the new boxer ones? Our son likes those. | |
