 Alert | The City of Maricopa Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department is going to begin our Parks, Trails and Open Space Master Plan in October. We have hired J2 Engineering to perform this task and as part of the process, we are going to produce a survey to gauge the desires, needs and wants in terms of recreational facilities and opportunities here in Maricopa.
This document will serve as our master guide in completing capital improvement projects, identifying funding sources and so on.
If you've been frustrated with us and lack of programs we don't offer due to no facilities, please speak up. We want to do more for the community but instead of us making decisions we think you want made, we'd rather have you provide us with feedback. Until this year, we have been armed with necessary funding to build new and necessary infrastructure.
This process is very public and gives you a chance to help shape the future of our department. There are a lot of things I want to do and build, but this department is about creating community through people, parks and programs.
We will go through the same process for our library master plan in another month or so.
