Alert | demonica, I really didn't mean to make you cry. I had those same thoughts when I was pregnant with my first. I wondered if I'd be a good mother and if I'd be able to care for him. Your motherly instinct will kick in and you'll be just fine. I loved the time in the hospital cause the nurses are there to help you and the baby. When it was time to go home I panicked. I thought to myself I don't know what to do. But, I figured it out. My husband and I both did and we were fine. I had help from family members and I always listened to advice from other people that have kids. Write down things that people tell you so that you will remember them. Here is something that I was glad I listened to. Since you're having a boy, you may want to remember this one. After they are circumsized, the doctors tell you to keep vaseline on it until it gets better. Well both of my sisters told me to try an extra strength triple antibiotic ointment, like Neosporin instead. Boy was I glad I listened to them. It healed so much faster. Even my doctor couldn't believe it when I took them in for their check ups. I did that for both of my boys. That is something that not even the doctors tell you to use. The best little known secret for those that are having boys. Just enjoy your time when he's brand new. Those are the best times and they really do grow fast. Make sure you sleep when he sleeps. Don't worry if you have a messy house either. You need sleep. The house will get cleaned sooner or later. When my oldest was asleep, so was I. It isn't as easy to sleep with #2, so enjoy your first. You'll do great! If you need any other tips or advice once he arrives, just PM me.

Alert | | demonica - Your fears and worries are so normal and unfortunately they will never go away. I have those same thoughts you have about your baby. Sometimes the things I hear/read/or see on TV freaks me out and I worry that it might happen to one of my girls. I just pray to God that it never does happen. My mom says those fears will never go away. It's one of the joys of motherhood.

Alert | | Demonica, I think every parent has those thoughts and to tell you the truth my son is 10months old and everynight before I go to bed I still make sure he is breathing and has nothing around him that could cover him. I am always so paranoid but my husbend always says that you can not change anything that may happen. Caring for another person like this is frightning however it is the BEST thing in the world and I bet that if you asked anyone on here that they would not change a thing!!! Good lucK!!

I can tell you that I am always scared and my husbend always tells me that you can not change what could happen. It is always stessfull and scarey but it is the best thing in this world to have them in your life. I have a 10 1/2 month old and he is my world. I love him so much and I can not imagine my life with out him!!! Good luck to you and remember that they are only this age once so take every chance you get to be with your baby!!!
