My name is Zulema Avis, I would like to share what information that was discussed.  Those of you Parents who could not make it  to our 2nd Autism Parent support Group meeting.  Our next Meeting will be next month, Saturday September 6, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Native New Yorker here in Maricopa. We really would like to get this group started. Once we get more parents coming to meetings we can come up with a better day and time. For now we have the founders from Arizona Autism Support Group joining us to help get this AP group started and to answer questions. Here's what it is?

  AP GROUPS
AP stands for Autism Parents.

AP groups are informal gatherings of family members with a loved one diagnosed with autism.  Many of the AP groups listed
here are coordinated by Arizona Autism Support Mentors. Arizona Autism Support has also collaborated with several existing
support groups in Arizona to list in our AP Group resource list.  The goal of AP groups is to give families an opportunity to meet
up with others who "get it" without having to drive more then 20 minutes from their home.
