I think I've decided to give up on AT&T and shell out the $350 for both of my contracts to be terminated. It is stated in the AT&T Terms of Service that they will pay for all binding arbitration. I'm hoping to be able to go through the legal department and get the money back. If not, they can pay their attorney $300 an hour to arbitrate the case at a binding arbitration hearing. I hate to be one of those people, but when you advertise on your website that service exists in certain areas and it does not, I find it to be unethical at best.

Plus, there is a pending class action lawsuit in 13 states (including AZ) against T-Mobile regarding the way these early termination fees are charged. The lawsuit was filed by an Idaho law firm that tried to cancel its service after its attorneys couldn't get service in the areas of the state where they do business. The claim is it violates consumer protection laws in the 13 states.

Either way, they have made my personal and business life difficult with their terrible product and I will try and at least waste some of their time as well.

Chrissie- They announced it at the CTIA show this spring. Thats how I found out about it. I work at the NNY.

A cell sites costs roughly 250,000 for a co-lo. If the carrier can sell you a device that gives you great recpeption in your home(since this is where most reception problems occur) and increase there MOU's it's a win win for everybody.

We have verizon, but oddly enough I've had more dropped calls and poor reception recently than before. Not sure why that is, but Verizon has been good to us with coverage, so no plans to change.

They always try the "you need to upgrade your equipment" excuse. Well I'm 18 months into a 24 month contract and the still sell my phone. I don't think the issue is equipment but AT&T's lack of infrastructure.
