Lately I have been playing CoD4, Rock Band, Guitar Hero 2/3, Rainbow Six, and NCAA Football.

I have a question about the x box. If I were to use it for about 10 minutes every hour would it be better to turn it off each time I finished or just leave it on?

Speaking strictly of the hard drive (and any hard drive for that matter), that's very hard on the drive. Hard drives incur the most wear and tear during startup and then the constant heat/cool/heat/cool cycles make it worse.
