Alert | If you live in Acacia Crossings don't bother. The guys came to my house after the sales person said the internet would be no problem but the phone svc probably would not happen. I figured oh well I will use vonage.
Well the guys get to my house and automatically say oh because of the bashas building you will not be able to get the internet either. Now I am at the far said of Acacia in a 2 story house.
The guy crawled on my roof and looked and said nope I can not see the tower so I am not even gonna try.
Who the (bleep) builds a tower that is lower than bashas. My hubby got the impression that they just did not want to take the time to even try.

Alert | It all depends on how far you are from the tower. The curvature of the earth requires you to be higher and higher to see something as the tower becomes further away. So if the tower is over by the VW testing grounds a large building might obstruct the Line Of Sight if you are close enough to Bashas. Typically, the maximum line of sight is about 20 miles.
Are you fairly close to Bashas?

Alert | | There is technology like the NLOS radios developed by Orthogon, now owned by motorola, that are able to go 125 mile without line of sight.... the only problem is they are about 15k each.. | | A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have. -Thomas Jefferson

Alert | We have microwave hops that far exceed 20 miles. Needing LOS means no obstuctions between the antenna at your house and the base station.
If you want a 20-40 foot push mast on your roof i'm sure they could make it work. Bottom line, LOS for residential fixed wireless stinks.

Alert | | This thread is incorrectly titled. It has nothing to do with the service just that it won't reach you. boo hoo. There are other services that don't reach me in Tortosa so too bad for me. Don't down a service just because you are not able to take advantage of it.
