 Alert | we just bought a 47" lcd tv, and I am afraid it might just be too big. We sit 12 feet from the tv, so we are actually at the max. distance for the "immersive experience".
I just want to move back another 5 feet to be comfortable. Did anyone else experience this? Is it just a matter of getting used to the big screen? (our last tv was a 27 in. tube)
I hate to make my husband get a 42" if I just need to get used to it, but I don't want to sit in the dining room to watch the tv for the next 5 years.

Alert | LOL we were just in Costco looking at the ginormous TVs. DH pointed out a BIG one and I said are we tearing out the back wall and sitting in the pool to watch it? I think it's a guy thing. However, my DH did then point to a 'smaller' one and say that was really the size he was thinking of.

Yes just give it some time and you will adjust. Going from a smaller TV to a big TV may take some getting used to. | | | |

Bstone, we have a 62" Mitsubishi also. I have been eyeing the 73" also. Even that in the store looks small. Are you still going to get the 73"? RJ, I am with you on the projector and screen, when you run into needing a lamp let me know, those I can get a discount on. | | | |

We have a 60 something inch in the living room and sit about 10 feet from it. That's OK.
We won a 60 something inch at a charity auction last year. That's sitting practically at the foot of the bed!
