 Alert | My cellular coverage with AT&T/Cingular is spotty at best at and near my Glennwilde home. I've basically been told by them tough luck even though their coverage map shows a minimum of "good" coverage throughout the entire city. I'm seriously considering switching services to T-Mobile.
Has anyone had connectivity issues with T-Mobile or At&T in Maricopa on their cellular phone? | | | |

Alert | Verizon Wireless has a test drive program right now. Basically you test the network for 30 days. If you don't like the service they will pay for your calls upon return of the phone. We have Verizon for service and live in Hidden Valley 8 miles behind Bashas. We have no problems with them. I actually just upgraded my phone to the new LG EnV.

Alert | | I have been calling them weekly to file complaints. I have AT&T and out of our 3 phones, none of them work in my house or even in my neighborhood (Cobblestone Farms). I had to put an actual land line in, just in case of emergency. It is so frustrating and of course they are refusing to let me out of my contract. They keep telling me there is a tower a block away and I should get great coverage...well I get no coverage so not sure how that adds up. | | | |

Sprint will be launching a repeater that uses your cable modem for backhaul. It's basically a cell site in youre house that can serve up to 6 phones at once. It will work on every Sprint PCS handset. It's slated to come out this year. | | | |

Alert | Jason- I don't know for sure, but assume it will work as Qwest is a MVNO for Sprint. It looks like the end user programs the box to allow only handsets that you specify. I would assume this is done by the handsets ESN. It will have a GPS built into it so one can't take the repeater overseas and use it.

Alert | azreplant- The unit Sprint will be using is called a femtocell. It will be a 1900MHZ low powered base station for your house.
Sprint's offering is not to be confused with T-Mobile's "At Home" service which is a VOIP wireless connection in your house. There service requires a dual band phone that switches to Wi-Fi when you get home.
Femtocells are cellular base stations the size of a wi-fi access point that provide cellular coverage in the home. | | | |

Phonescoop.com is not always right about things, and is not an information source provided by the major cell phone companies. Celltechguy is saying it will launch this year and support up to 6 phones. Phonescoop says 2008 launch, and only 4 phones will be supported.
Also, why wouldn't they just put up another tower or two to make their service better. Now consumers have to buy more equipment to make their phones work as well as the competitors? I don't see them doing that since it is much easier to just change carriers.
To me this says: Sprint service sucks, but hey if you pour more money into this thing you can have decent service. | | | |
