 Alert | Have a friend that just bought a new LCD monitor with speakers. When we plug the sound card cable into her computer no sound comes out of the speakers. When we plug her old powered speakers back in they work fine.
She has a soundblaster live value card, does this card need powered speakers? I have plugged the monitor speakers into my computer and they work fine.
If she needs a different sound card could someone recomend a inexpensive one, under $30.

Alert | the sound card is not powered. She will need a powered sound card to run these speakers.
