I have owned a condo in Tulsa since 1981. My wife and I lived in it until 1989 when we moved to a house. We still own the condo and it is now a rental unit. The original refrigerator and range are still in working order after 26 years. I believe we had to replace the dishwasher several years ago.

We have an RCA Console TV that my father in law gave us. He's had it for years. I think my husband said since the early 80's. It works great still. We had to buy some kind of component to hook up to it so the DVD player would work, but other than that it's been a good TV. Better than the one in our bedroom that is only 1 1/2 years old. The color on that one is all screwed up. I'm not even sure they make console TV's anymore?

Rex, this thread made me crack up! My grandparents had a beast of a microwave oven that they purchased for $500 in the 70's. About two years ago, after my grandpa passed away, my aunts and uncles felt it was time for my grandmother to get rid of the old microwave and get a new. Grandma said it worked great; everyone else complained it took 5 minutes to heat a cup of water. My aunt went to Costco and got her a new microwave - like I said, almost 2 years ago.

I talk to my grandma at least three times a week. I swear, at least once a week she brings up her old microwave and how upset she is that she no longer has it. After all, there was nothing wrong with it. lol

Thanks Reina. I can sympathize with your grandma. My parents were going to throw the old microwave out. I said I'd take it. Now I have a 40 y/old broken microwave in my garage. I love history. I'm going to see if I can get it to the Smithsonian or something.

All of these items have been great to read about. :-)
