garion--thanks for the clarification.  I saw the ip address and assumed Orbitel was using UltraDNS.  I also wasn't claiming Orbitel redirected traffic.  Just mentioning some ISP's have been doing it - such as Cox and AT&T.  And it's probably going to be happening more because increased bandwith usage.

Do you think adding Orbitel's DNS servers into eveyone's router or NIC instead of allowing it to obtain the DNS servers automatically would help some of the people who have problems with Orbitel?

Not really.

Since Orbitel is intercepting everything over port 53 UDP, it won't matter what you set your DNS to. I have a fairly exotic setup that I don't recommend (even my co-workers think I'm nuts for doing what I have.), that forces all my normal DNS requests over TCP.

For all I know, its not even Orbitel thats doing it, but maybe their ISP (AT&T I think?)

Yep, Orbitel is AT&T. My work internet connection is handled by AT&T and they have many of the problems that Orbitel has.

Whenever I use orbitel in Maricopa it is slow and laggy. Try Maricopa Broadband they have the fastest service around town.

Doesn't Maricopa Broadband charge $39.95 for only 1.5 Mbps?  That is slower than Orbitel's worst day.

Try testing it 2-3 times in a row and at other sites, like speedtest.net and testmy.net. Orbitel has trouble with consecutive tests in a row.

I wouldn't use Maricopa Broadband for TV. Check out the post in the technology forum.
