Alert | Keeping it real. I have eaten there twice. I wasn't greatly impressed the first time, but went back to be fair. Again, I wasn't exactly inspired to become a regular.
It wasn't bad per se, but not spectacular enough to warrant the drive. The food is just so-so. The service is just okay and the atmosphere is acceptable, but the menu leaves a lot to be desired. I am sure it will improve over time, or at least I hope it will.
FYI a "beef burrito" is made with ground or shredded beef. If you have chunks of un-chewable, dry steak....it's a "steak burrito" and not everyone likes those. Better descriptions on the menu would be a step in the right direction.

Actually since you want accuracy it would be Carne Asada.

Alert | | I ate at Raceway last Wednesday and it was great! I had their steak sandwich and it was cooked perfectly pink. My girlfriend had the fish platter and she really liked the fish and the jalapeno coleslaw. We got to meet the owner (Rand?) and he was very nice. Servers were on top of everything and they played good music. We will definitely go there again. Rand said that the liquor license was still going through the red tape, but should have the license soon.

Alert | | Ate at Raceway last night with the fam and it sort of has an older look on the inside which surprised me due to that being a newer building. Enjoyed. | | Live every day as if it were your last and smile!

Alert | Stopped for lunch on the way to Leaf and Feather yesterday... the decor reminded me of a working "poor mans" bar....considering what we looked like we fit right in...the 'philly cheesteak' was good (considering were in AZ)and the onion rings were delish' We'll probably make it a routine stop when going up to Thunderbird.. | | ANYONE HOME? Alert | | We tried Raceway last night and we must have caught them on an off night. It took over 45 minutes for our order, and then when out chili arrived it had absolutely no liquid left in it so we had to send it back. We were disappointed with the whole meal, but I must say the things that were wrong are at least things that can be easily fixed. Raceway has a great physical set-up and we hope the best for them!

What did the restaurant manager say when you told him about all of this?

Alert | | Manager was in back helping cook. Our waiter was very apologetic for the wait and the food. Like I said, the things that were wrong last night can be easily fixed and hopefully they are just working out the gliches.

Alert | Had the Philly cheese steak for the first time last week. I had my doubts -- I consumed plenty of cheese steaks as a kid in Philly -- but it was great! I highly recommend it -- tons of beef, sauteed onions and peppers, all slathered in melted mozzarella. Oh YEAH. Not health food by any stretch of the imagination, but REALLY good!!
