I went to Sonic a few nights ago for dinner.  I was looking at the menu board when a Sonic worker ( I won't describe him for fearing of being called a racist) was outside with a clipboard waving my forward.  I tried waving him off as I looked over the menu.  He then started yelling for me to move forward.  I gave in and drove up to him and he informed me that the speaker wasn't working and that he would take my order.  I let him know that I didn't know what I wanted as I didn;'t have enough time to look over the whole menu, because he was insisting I pull forward.

Needless to say by then, there was already a few cars behind me.  He got upset that I didn't know what I anted and walked off and took the next car's order.  I went to Carl's Jr.

Thanks for the laugh Rich!  The image as I was reading was GREAT!  I think I snorted out loud!

Skipped the race card, but got smacked with the sexist card.

"The non-descript sonic worker"

that sounds too elitist

"the non-descript sonic team member"

How is that?

I totally agree about poor customer service in these fast food places. I had the same experience with KFC in Maricopa, but it was the manager who displayed poor behavior. I complained to KFC Corp. Office and what did they do...Nothing. They lied and said they fired the manager and ask if I wanted a coupon for free KFC. I would not accept the free chicken and refuse to go into Maricopa's KFC.

My sister and 16 yo nephew were in the drive thru the evening of 071208 and a 25 yo male order taker could not get the order correct and kept asking for my sister to repeat herself, once the order was correctly taken my sister asked my nephew what she thought the order takers problem was, the order taker heard her and came out of the store and confronted my sister at her car, the supervisor came out and all he did was watch his worker go off on my sister. The supervisor asked the order taker once to go back into the store, the order taker ripped off his name badge, said he did not need to be taking crap from customer and that he did not need the job. He then saw my nephew sitting in the car, called him a racial name and said he would not hit a woman but would fight my nephew, he then proceded to my nephew's side of the car while my nephew got out of the car, my sister rushed to get btwn the order taker and my nephew and then asked the supervisor who was in charge, at this time a female coworker came out of the store, pushed my sister and told her to leave. My sister moved her car out of line and called the police, a assualt report was taken, witnesses were identified and come to find out by one of the witnesses the manager was inside watching the whole thing, the manager got called out by the witness after he told the cop he had just arrived to the store. About a week later I went to sonic and the male and female were still working there, from earlier post kinda coincidental that they have a male worker that pretty much does the same thing when customers complain, rips off his name badge, tells peope off and advises to go ahead and call corporate. We will never go back.

So this individual is a member of the Sonic Team. That must mean that Sonic supports the members behavior. Now you are saying that all of Sonic is bad. Hmmmm....better be careful. I smell a lawsuit!!!

Ok,  these stories are getting more and more ridiculous and I am not sure I even believe them anymore, lol.

At the Maricopa Sonic, I think its a TEAM effort.  Going to Sonic is as bad as Subway/Quiznos.  You KNOW your going to get crappy service, but you know thats part of the package at those places.

I am not saying it's not true, but look at it this way: the person who started this thread posted a story with different details elsewhere, which looks pretty suspicious. She hasn't responded since she was "found out." Then you come on here and make your first post about some crazy incident at this same place. My first thought when reading it was how do you know how old the guy was? Did he tell you? Again, maybe it did happen, but you have got to admit that the story seems a bit unbelievable, esp. given the cirumstances (your one post, the OP strangely disappearing, etc.).

Then again, maybe I just overanalyzed it.

How do I know his age? from the police report, I also know the employees names and so on.  My post was not placed to make believers out of anybody, just wanted to warn of what happened to my family, thought that was the purpose of this thread.  Sorry I didn't respond earlier, or as you say "strangely disappearing", my life got in the way and I step'd away from my computer.  Please note this will be my last post regarding this subject.

Uh, I guess you didn't read the whole thread, or you might know what I mean by the "strangely disappearing" part. I really don't care when you responded, but I was pointing out the fact that you just made your screenname, and the only post you made was against a local business. So excuse me if I find the story a little hard to believe, especially after the threadstarter's odd post elsewhere. If it did happen, that sucks and I will be sure to watch out for any similar incidents there.

Personally I find this incident hysterical, mainly because what slinky and Ed are saying is false. The Police were called because the woman in question would not get back inside her car and she was verbally abusing people. The other guy "ed" got out of his car and then was yelling at the employee and the manager!! Talk about rude. That lady had issues.

Also, I find that it is a hit or miss on te service. Overall the service is alright. The notable servers that I have found are Merdey (sp?), Drew, Darell, and very rarely, Dedrick.

IM me on Yahoo If you want: Grann0. I have planty to share about resturants in Maricopa.

I agree with bad customer service there. The problem is most of the young kids working there that can care less about your happiness. The way they see it, as long as they are getting paid that's all that matters. Very poor management though. I think if many people complain to the corporate office, they will do something about it. JUST DON'T GO THERE ANYMORE, NOT WORTH IT.

Well I had a bad time at Sonic myself, around the first week of July I went thru the drive thru and ordered a basic sonic burger. I went home and bit into my burger only to feel that I bit into something hard. I picked it out and to my amazement I found a 1 inch piece of insulated copper wire. I will not go back to Sonic for anything anymore.

Ha ha asugrl!

I personally could never give up my Vanilla Diet Cokes. Even though they are out of Vanilla often, and when we order food, our order is usually wrong. The problem is that I don't realize the order is wrong until I get home so I don't do anything about it. Then I forget, and go back for the Dt. Coke. I have ALWAYS gotten GREAT customer service though. The young man who may be 'in question' in the above complaints even noticed when I had my baby last year and commented on it. He was very nice. Maybe I'm just their favorite customer, but I think the food is just as good as all the other Sonic's, I just don't always get what I ordered. It's not 5 Star so RELAX!

(I'm so glad yall aren't going back there. The line will move MUCH faster now.)
