Alert | | We like Barro's here in town, and it's still not our most favorite. Mama T's is good also. We've never tried Fat Daddy's and I'm not sure we will now. Oregano's is my favorite pizza place. They have several locations around the valley. We go to the one in Gilbert and there is also one near MCC and in Scottsdale. I wish they'd open one here or one in Chandler. Yum!

Alert | | I do agree, it's just that Oregano's is REALLY good! It wouldn't matter to me though if they put one in Chandler or even in Casa Grande by that new mall out there. The locations they have now just aren't that close.

Oregano's is a whole lot more than your usual pizza joint... it would fare well in Maricopa.. Their sandwiches are amazing as well..
Great, now I'm craving a pizzookie..
Oh.. and Fat Daddy's is the #2 worst place I have been to in the 'Copa (#1 is NNY).. in both taste and service..

Alert | Dang! you must work for NNY. I have never had a good experience there. Service sucks, cooks suck, Hostess's suck. I gave them chance after chance, and they always fell short, and I am not that hard to please! Hostess's do not greet you when you walk in. They are talking to other employee's and do not acknowledge your entrance, in fact sometimes there is no one there to greet you. Then, when you are seated there there is Radio music and TV going at the same time. How lame is that? Grandkids ordered wings and pizza to share, and no plates came with their food? My reuben sandwich had no saurkraut? Then when she brought my "replacement sandwich" there was no dressing on it? I will and DO GO to FAT DADDY'S for my take home order. Their service is always great, and ready when I get there. Their prices are the best in town for the quality. And I DO NOT WORK THERE OR EVEN KNOW THEM OUTSIDE OF THEIR BUSINESS!! I have seen their delivery driver, and I will say he has some safe driver issues! Alert | YZRacer, you may be an Arizona Native, but you are not a Maricopa Native. It appears that all your favorites are NO WAY Maricopa at all. You must be a part of the bedroom group. Sleep in maricopa, but work, shop, and eat in Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert, etc.... I work in Phoenix, but I spend my $$$$ in Pinal county and the City of . Maricopa. I pass 3 subways on my route home, but I spend my money for Subway in the Bashes Center. I buy my food at Bashes, I rent my movies at Blockbuster. On my way to work I stop at Jack In The Box. I buy my gas at EXpress Stop. I have to tell ya, Grimaldis, Oreganos, Spinatos or Nellos are not within the city limits of Maricopa, and neither is your support. So, when you lay your head on your pillow in YOUR bedroom community, DO ME THIS FAVOR!!! If you don't spend your money here, don't complain here. You obviously have no idea what our Maricopa Businesses has to offer. | | "Your future is a rainbow of beautiful memories when you hold a dream in your heart"

Alert | So totally agree. It's been about a year for me too! Too bad about Ruby Tuesday (if it's true) We could use a chain rstaurant here, and I think it would survive. I would like to see a 24 hour gig, like Denny's, or IHOP. Probably won't happen for a long time.

You obviously have no idea what our Maricopa Businesses has to offer. I am very well aware that my favorite places are not in the City of Maricopa. Just because I used to live somewhere else and acquired favorites elsewhere, doesn't mean I have to abandon them upon moving to Maricopa. I am not going to spend money on bad pizza/services here just to spend my money here. I buy what I can here in Maricopa, but I do have to go elsewhere for other things. Not everything that we need or want is available in our budding City. And you are correct, we live here but my husband works outside of Maricopa. In case you haven't noticed, there aren't all that many places to work here to support a family. Once my husband's employer decides to move here (which won't happen) then we have to work elsewhere. BTW, am I the only one complaining here? I don't think so. I don't think I'm the lone Fat Daddy's disliker in this city. Or the only person that seeks services of a higher quality than what can be found here. There really is no need to attack. | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | | Actually, it's nobody's business where we decide to spend our money. I live in Hidden Valley, and it's about the same distance to Casa Grande as it is to Maricopa, so I opt for Casa Grande because I like the Safeway store there. I still say Maricopa was better when there were only Headquarters, Mayfair Market and Circle K. I've lived out here for 25 years, so I certainly don't have any allegiance to the "new" Maricopa. I've tried to shop in Maricopa, but things are extremely limited there. I always wind up driving to Fry's Electronics or somewhere else in the Chandler or Casa Grande area. Let's face it. Maricopa is out of the loop. Casa Grande's location is what made it successful...easy access right off the I-10 and I-8, and location is everything or eventually you'll be left in everyone else's dust. Places such as IHOP, Golden Corral, Cracker Barrel and outlet stores all, without fail, locate where they can get customers right off the interstate. Maricopa does not have that advantage to attract new businesses. And with a reservation smack dab between Maricopa and I-10, things will never improve here. | | Proud conservatives happily living on our acreage in the beautiful mountains of Hidden Valley with no HOA.

Alert | I agree Desertgal. How is living in Maricopa and shopping/eating in Chandler/Tempe any different that living in Gilbert and shopping/eating in Chandler/Tempe? If the services we need aren't here, or if the services that are available here aren't up to our standards, then it should be nobodys business where I spend my money.
I'm sure there are lots of people who do what they can here in Maricopa, but have no choice but to take their spending dollars elsewhere. Face it people, Maricopa doesn't have enough business choices to sustain every need or to employ all the people who live here.
For Example: Where in Maricopa can you buy your kids a pair of shoes for school? You could try the Resale store, but not everyone is cool with 2nd hand stuff and they might not have your kids size.
Just because there are 68 dentists (exaggeration I know) here, doesn't mean that I have to leave the one I've been going to for 20 years and come here. Same with OBGYNs, Chiropractors or Eye Drs, etc.
My wash machine needed a new belt. I couldn't get a new one in Maricopa. I had to go to Chandler.
On the pizza/resturant note: If I found an awesome place in another city, I can't keep going there because I now have to spend my money in Maricopa? I don't think so. If people think the Pizza out here is gross/bad/awful service/whatever, why should they suffer through it just to keep their money in Maricopa?
It would be nice if Maricopa got more in the loop and had more businesses and services that we could all utilize instead of going outside the city. But we don't, so we have to go elsewhere. Those of you who bash others for spending money outside Maricopa should redirect your anger to the city officials who aren't doing anything to help Maricopa businesses stay open or come here in the first place.
PS: I can't stand Fat Daddy's either. On the rare occasion that we want pizza, we most certainly go to a place outside of Maricopa for pizza that we enjoy.

Alert | I am a pizza-holic!
Here in Maricopa, so far, I love Barros! I thought Mamma T's had good pizza, but a couple weekends ago I went in there to pick one up... ewww. Ever heard of 409? Yuck! I have not tried Fat Daddy's yet. Pizza Hut is the same everywhere. Domino's too. What other options are there out here?
Anyway, if you're in Ahwatukee or on your way home from work - pick up Hungry Howies pizza. They are on Chandler Blvd, the same plaza as Kohls. They have FABULOUS pizza if you like different flavored crust. Try 'em. You'll see. If I am coming home from work and want pizza - I go there. | | Repeat after me... My parents are NOT to blame. Alert | i have said it before... in my home we jokingly refer to that establishment as "Crap Daddy's" ...a Boboli crust, with campbell's tomato soup for sauce and slices of bologna instead of pepperoni would be better than that places "pizza" ... but that is just my opinion | | I am channeling my "inner cougar".....

Alert | | Seriously,I've had pizza from around the world. Low and behold the worst I've ever tasted, is in my own town. They should have a show about them on Food Network called 'America's Worst Pizza". | | "Everything for everyone and nothing for ourselves"
