Alert | Okay, sorry I posted the name wrong, BROOKLYN BOYS. My intent wasn't to bash the place. If you read my initial post I was inquiring about the quality of the food. I chose not to stay and eat because of the uncomfortable heat. I guess maybe I should try to order take out, since there a couple of people that say the food is good. It shouldn't offend anyone if someone makes a comment on this forum unless it's a personal attack. I commend the entrpreneurial spirit of the businessmen/women in Maricopa, it raises our quality of life. And if someone doesn't care for a product or service that is offered in Maricopa, that's their opinion - it won't stop me from trying it and forming my own opinion. Nevertheless, I value the opinions of others, that what makes this country great - the freedom of speech. I wish somebody would have told me no to see the movie "Open Water" that was terrible!

Alert | We love it there. Maybe it was just a bad day..
| | Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem. ______________________________________ *************************************** San Diego Super Chargers! GO!!! Joined old forum March 2006 Post count: 3068 + these | |

First of all, its BROOKLYN BOYS! If you're going to bash on a place, at least get the name right. And second of all, the owners are really great people and they are trying their hardest to make the place comfortable for everyone and an enjoyable place to be in. They have made arrangements to take care of the heat, its just taking a while. In addition, the food is amazing and if you feel different don't eat there. I think its ridiculous that you all have nothing better to do then get on this website and talk trash about good people. Have any of you ever tried to open up your own restaurant? I DON'T THINK SO! It can't be easy and I think its really unfair to judge them. Their at least trying. If you don't like the place-don't go! Maricopa has limited options in regards to fine dining and if you all don't want to take advantage of this great great great place then I feel sorry for you! </div>

um...fine dining? you're kidding, right? i am in no way bashing brooklyn boys, i haven't even eaten there, although i have heard the food is very good. but fine dining a pizza place ain't i don't believe the owners od brooklyn boys would disagree with that either. fine dining is a 3 or 4 star restaurant. not a pizza place.

Alert | Good food....but no way can it be considered Fine Dining....well, I guess that deoends on what you are able to get out to. Everyone's situation is different but, it would not be advertised as fine dining.

Alert | | it may not be considered "fine dining" to "city standards" but in Maricopa, thats as close as it gets. Its not just pizza! There is amazing pasta, home-made bread, sandwiches, great seafood, calzones, scrumpcious appitizers, and unbelievable drinks! And this forum may have just been started to inquire about the food, but it turned into a lot of people saying mean things. I mean, yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but its really not fair to judge a book by its cover. Did you all know that there was a family of three that came in to celebrate their son, who was in middle school and yet participated in the HIGH SCHOOL musical and the owner let him make his own pizza just to show that he was proud of him as well? Its an amazing place and if you took the time to go there and talk to the people there, you would understand.

Alert | Went in there on a Sunday night in April at 8:35pm. Hours are posted that they were open until Sunday at 9pm. Server said they wouldn't serve us food and they were closed. Well then, if they're closed, why was the freakin' door open and the hours posted as closing time at 9pm? Turned on my heel and left and went to Arena. I will never darken the door of BB again.

Alert | | Tried it last night. Very average food bordering on below average. Stuffy, poor service and kinda not so clean. If I was not there with someone else enthusiatic to try it out I would have walked. I would not recommend.

Alert | Ate there last night. Food was very good. And our waiter was wonderful But -- the temps inside are still a problem. We almost left before ordering because it was HOT in there. And with the heat, you get the flies. Not pleasant at all.

Alert | I went there and wasn't impressed by the food. I would compare it to a Michelina's frozen dinner.
I'll drive the 20min to Carrabba's, from now on.

Alert | I had a terrific spicey shrimp and pasta dish last night!!! That chocolate dessert was wonderful too. Still a little warm inside though. A friend said they ordered the window coverings etc. and the company took their money but never delivered the blinds etc. is that true? Maybe that is why there is still a delay. | | Senior Member Posts: 5042 Joined: Jan 2006 You better make it count, cause you can't get it back!

Alert | My family and I went there once and the a/c wasn't working that day. We decided to eat on the patio. From there on out we felt like misfits or something. The only prompt service we got was from the bread boy. Our waitress took 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. Another 15 to bring our drinks. You can see where this is going right? But we waited and figured they were busy and tried to be nice (even though she was anything but). We finally got our food (an hour and a half after getting there ... with our 3 kids ... in the heat ... on the patio ... with the flies). During that time we watched the childless couples seated on the patio with a different waiter come and go. We also had the pleasure of listening to our neighboring table (a single mom with 3 kids) get bashed openly by the waitress .... accompanied by eye rolling any time the mom asked for something. It made me so mad.
It would take a LOT to get me to go back there. Sad too because I was so excited to see an Italian place down there with so many great sounding dishes. I just don't want to deal with people like that ruining my dinner. I'll make it at home on my own. Besides, while the bread was good, the pizza was eh. Ours was okay because we had toppings on it, but the kids had plain cheese pizza and the sauce had no flavor to it ... it hardly got touched. :o(

Alert | We went there last night for the first time. Our food was really good and the service.....excellent. Portions were large. Prices for what we ordered were reasonable. The two of us shared the antipasto salad...was enough for 4.... and my new favorite pizza...picante. We took home enough salad and pizza for another meal. (We ordered the larger pizza so we would have leftovers.)
I would have liked it to be a little cooler in there, but it wasn't too bad. Maybe adding some ceiling fans would help. There was one fly that I was not happy about sharing my dinner with, but...I have been in all but 1 eating place in Maricopa and that has been a problem at all of them except for Headquarters.
