Alert | | Wow... that wasn't a very constructive way to phrase your feedback! We went quite a while ago (before the new owners) and found that it was good food but felt like it was overpriced. I don't mind paying more to support local business but at the time felt it was a bit over the top for what we got. | | As Bertrand Russell once said, "The only thing that will redeem mankind is cooperation." Alert | | Hubby and I loved going there, but then one time I got terrible food poisoning. I've been afraid to go back since. Alert | | Do you or will you have pumpkin bagels? Last fall we discovered them at Einstein's with pumpkin cream cheese spread and it was a favorite. I would rather buy from you, so I wanted to check! | | Spring training is just around the corner!

Alert | | I use Fry's so I never go over to Bashas strip..... but I will now. I looked at the menu and it looks good...... reminds me of einsteins a little, only I hope it is better because it is smaller and locally owned...you know, not a chain.... I look forward to coming in there for lunch with my toddler soon.

Alert | Fourth owners in just over three years and they still can't keep the baskets full of bagels. 9am on a Sunday and 3 bagels in the whole joint, unacceptable. I have been patient because the food is good, but I am tired of the disappointment of leaving empty handed. I am putting my foot down. I won't be back until it changes hands again. When will someone figure it out. Without the bagels your not a bagel shop.
Oh and telling me I can call it in next time is not the answer. I plan all week, I want someone to give me a break on the weekend. That's why I pay you.

Alert | Calling it in? LOL So I'm standing next in line at 9 am with my kids and they LOVE the cinnimon-sugar begels when someone calls in and takes all 3 remaining cinnimon-sugar begels. What was left? 11 total begels: Jalepeno, onion, and pumpernickle. We left and went to Sunrise Cafe (which is awesome!)
Bottom line: without the bagels you are not a bagel shop.

Alert | I wonder if the price keeps going up or down when it changes owners?
Do they make it better before they sell or run it into the ground that much more?

Alert | | After the original owners left the quality really changed. When I got my scarlet macaw the last few times, there was like 1/4 amount of roast beef and the bread was supposed to be toasted and was not. and the Mocha tasted like sweet milk, like no coffee(expresso) in it like it should be. pretty disappointing... | | LVMADONNA Senior Member Posts: 1974 Joined: Jan 2006

Alert | | I always thought they're bagels were the best in Arizona, but the last time they seemed different. I was told by the owners a while back that they were making them the way they are supposed to be made, ( I think by boiling first, then baking). That is the way they make them back east, and that's what makes that outer layer a little crisp. But the last time we were able to get any, (as they always run out), they were too soft and airy.....such a dissapointment....it seems all bread in Arizona is that way...why is that?...ooh..I want some good hard crusted Italian bread...Great, now I wont be happy, till I get some!...And by the way....it's spelled BAGELS, not begels! Alert | | I remember reading somewhere that the water used makes a big difference in the breads, bagels, pizza dough etc. Makes sense. I often yearn for the breads back east. Especially the pumpernickel and bagels from Stone's bakery in S Baltol

Alert | | We have yet to find a loaf of decent Italian bread out here! Someone at work told me about a bakery on 52nd St. that I should try but I just haven't been able to leave work early enough to get there! I haven't been to Kazoo's in a while because I bought a dozen the last time and froze them - it would be a shame if they changed their way of making them because my husband (who's from NYC) said they were the closest to what he used to get back there. | | Adversity does not build character - it reveals it.

Alert | | I was told that they used a 'steamer' for the bagels, instead of a traditional 'boiling'. Thats why they aren't as good as the ones you are used too.
