Alert | Amen to Potbelly's!!!!! Yummy! I emailed them a year ago about opening up in the Phoenix metro area, told them how I fell in love with their subs back when I was living in Chicago and that they would have a huge following here - actually got a response from somebody in their marketing dept with the standard "we are continually evaluating markets based on our need for expansion etc etc etc" One can always hope!!

Alert | How about a Dinosaur Barbeque or Primanti Brothers. I went to Teakwoods and they do have a sandwich very similar to the Pittsburgher that is sold at Primanti Bros in Pittsburgh. I think it is called the Nate.

Alert | What I would really, really want to open up here in Maricopa is an Eegee's. They have them in Tucson. I never start the trip back from Tucson without stopping at Eegee's on Ina and getting a Eegee's pina colada for the trip!

Alert | Dinosaur BBQ? Someone actually mentioned Dinosaur BBQ?? Wow..
I used worked across the street from the original Dino, in Syracuse NY.. Imagine pulling up to work and smelling that sweet smell every morning, knowing you'll have to wait till noon to taste it.. *sigh*..
Thats the first we go when we go back home.. Right off the plane to the Dino..
You do know that you can order their BBQ sauce and other stuff (pork, beans..) online? I also own the cookbook..
For those wondering: http://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/

Taco shop... That would be sooo good!. I miss my carne asada chips | | Just doing it one day at a time. Alert | Every so often, I make the Dino BBQ sauce (the mutha sauce) and the beans from scratch using the recipe out of the book..
Its different from what you get in the bottles, a bit more flavor... At least it not sweet stuff that seems common around here..
If you're also looking for other Syracuse stuff locally, there's a place near downtown Scottsdale that serves Hoffmans hotdogs (similar to what Teds in Tempe serves) called "New York Sausage Company"... Ironically, the sausage they serve is made locally (damn it, it should be Gianelli!)
