Alert | We LOVE Arena! It's my kids favorite place in town. They LOVE the Cookie monster for dessert. We all share it and they eat it so fast. My DH and I barely get 2 bites before it's gone. Their record time to eat it is 2min 15sec, lol. It's a really good size cookie too. We go there quite a bit and I've never had to pay for a drink refill. The sodas are so big that one really is plenty for me any way. We were just there on Saturday after their flag football game. It was really crowded. They are on the Cardinals team so they like going there since you have a big Cardinal picture up. It matches their shirts, haha.
Plus, I have a RAMS card and I get 4 free entrees at Arena. I love that! Yummy! Now I'm hungry, great. May have to go there for lunch.

Alert | | The Arena is an awesome place to grab a beer, sandwich, and watch a game. I don't think even they, would claim to be fine dining. Their turkey club rocks!

The only downside to Arena's is, since The-Place-that-shall-not-be-named closed down, it's way busier....and the last couple of time's I've been there....I've come home to "I saw NEZ eating at Arena's" threads.
NEXT time I go there I will be Incognito. Or inbreeding with the staff...whatever.</div>
dammit, NEZ, who are you? how many conversations have we had at the arena? and are you laughing at me because i don't know i am talking to NEZ? i figure we must have talked, cuz i think i have bent the ear of all the regulars by now!!!

Actually the football package is approximately $7000.00. Plus Direct TV is $500.00 a month. But, what really ticks me off about this thread is that you had to bring up the fact that I am married to my brother. (THIS IS A JOKE-THE BROTHER PART)</div>
Chelby_S,
Anymore in-breeding and you will start putting out Super Models.... cause Girl your genes are kickingQ!!!!

Alert | | Personally, I think it's in the restaurants best interest all around to not give free refills. Excessive amounts of sodas are not healthy. In todays' world it would not surprize me at all to see a headline where someone sues a restaurant for free refills because they got sclerosis of the liver from being a coke-a-holic. In my server experience, diet coke drinkers are insatiable.

Alert | Giving away that 12cents for the extra soda would cut into their profits.

Alert | | I wouldn't be suprised if someone sued for something as stupid as that either! McDonalds was sued because their coffee was "hot" (what a concept!) and because people got fat from eating their food!

Alert | | Thanks, peekaboo, my point exactly. And BTW caveman, I'm from planet earth reality 2007, and you? Everyone wants something for free: two for one, kids eat free, free refills and on and on. The only things that should be expected are reasonable portions of good food cooked the way you ordered, good friendly service and a nice atmosphere. If an estalishment doesn't fulfill these for you, go elsewhere. If you don't want to pay the overhead cost of eating out, stay home.

Alert | | I think you're ignoring the fact that soft drinks are huge portion of profit for restaurants. It doesn't cost them anywhere near $2-2.50 for a glass. Consider cans in the store at $2 per 12 pack. You're looking at 1.39 cents per ounce. If you have a 20 ounce glass full of soda and no ice, that is 27.78 cents, at grocery store prices (which restaurants do not pay). If I drink 3 or 4 Diet Cokes in a meal, why is that such a big deal? | | Joined: Jul 2005

I take it you haven't really researched that one. Look it up and "contributory negligence" while you're at it. | | Joined: Jul 2005

Alert | | Don't want to take the time and "look it up" when I would much rather be enjoying Arena's. And yes, who cares if you drink 3 or 4 cokes, but isn't it the idea for a business to make a profit? Go to Arena's because you enjoy the food, watching the ball games, and the great service. They do not charge for refills all day, everyday. While you are at it, check the bottom of their menu and you will see..."free refills, except during football and certain sports broadcasts". So yah they charge at certain times and this time of year may be more than others but it is not like they keep it a secret until you ask for another or when you pay, it's clear as day the menu!

Alert | The short of it is several McDonald's stores were serving coffee well beyond the required and acceptable temperature. Several other customers had received severe burns and had notified the chain and corporate of the problem. This poor lady got nowhere with the local manager, chain owner and corporate, so she did what every American has a right to do: sue. She received severe burns well beyond that any normal consumer would have expected from hot coffee, so she sought damages to cover the burns and medical treatment. The jury heard this and the fact that the McDonald's chain continued to keep coffee too hot even though they knew that they were harming their customers, for the sole purpose of.....wait for it......saving a few pennies in lost coffee (sound similar to no refills?) The jury decided to hit McDonald's where it would hurt: the bottom line, since they showed such disregard for their customers.
In the end McDondald's settled out of court for a lesser sum, which was not disclosed. They added a stupid label and the media dumbed down America by grossly misrepresenting the case. So sure, go ahead and enjoy Arena, secure in the fact that it was just a stupid lawsuit and dumb customers don't know that coffee is hot. Never mind that it is actually the masses that are being dumbed down... | | Joined: Jul 2005
