Alert | | Thanks, I'll give it a try. The basket was great. Romaine lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, white onions, brocoli, cauliflower, spinach, potatoes, snap peas, apples, peaches, plums, pears, lychee, cantaloupe and green grapes. The kids were just asking for frozen green grapes the other day, so they were excited to see them. I love how excited the kids are to see what kind of fruit we get each time. It's made summer snacking much better this year. Enjoy everyone!!!

Alert | | Oh, Lychee. Haven't had that in years. We used to have a tree when I lived in Hawaii and I was always raking them off the lawn or picking them up with a lawnmower. There were more than we could eat. They're good. Very sweet. | | Stupid should hurt!

Alert | maricopamommy you have to go online to order your basket first. Go to www.bountifulbaskets.org The home page will give you a lot of information about the organization. Right now there is not even a link up for the next order. I don't think there will be until either Tuesday night or Wed. AM. The next delivery will be 2 Saturdays from now or August 25th. .... darn, I'll be out of town and have to miss that one!!!!!!
You pay for the baskets online then they mail you a receipt you need to print out and bring with you. Also bring a large laundry basket or grocery bags. It is a co-op so arrive early, help sort, then you get your goodies. People arrive at 8, baskets start to get picked up at 9; sometimes a little sooner if the sorting gets done early.
Sometimes there are other items besides the produce baskets; or special items to purchase. One weeks there were flats of apricots; one week cooking oils; next week I think there are spices...these cost extra.
They also email out recipes for many of the items in the basket which is great!
Hope this helps.

Alert | This basket was awesome...we were able to take extra of things, so we took extras of the yellow potatoes...that way, after work, getting home at 5pm, i can just clean and cut the potatoes for dinner, at least saving a few minutes of not having to peel them.
we also loved having strawberries...i was craving those all week!

Alert | Thanks Nancy for the info. I was going to ask how I could get in on these baskets everyone keeps talking about. Can't wait, we will be ordering. Thanks again | | Welfare's purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence.

Alert | If you haven't tried Bountiful Baskets you will LOVE it. In my house it is only my husband and myself and I share with my neighbors and take extras to my kids. I still have so much fruit and fresh veggies for myself that I am never lacking!
Because we don't get to pick and choose, it also gets me to try new things! I really love the recipes they send out to go with some of the items in the current basket; also the help this board was when we got things I wasn't sure how to prepare and got a pile of great sounding recipes when I asked.
I have to miss the next delivery since I will be out of town and already wonder what I will be missing!! Enjoy. | | A leader leads by example, whether he intends to or not. ~Author Unknown
