Friday night my hubby and I decided to try Arena for their "All you can eat fish and chips". Well, we arrived, sat at the bar for a cocktail. I noticed a printed paper on a table near by that said "due to short supply of fish, we cannot offer all you can eat fish and chips". We decided to stay anyway, figuring the serving would be adequate. Well guess again. Asked the server if the serving was a decent size. She told us it would be three pieces and fries. So we ordered. Well you can imagine my surprise when we got our dinner, it was one piece of fish, not large either, cut into 3 pieces. NOt only was it meager, but it was lousey. Spoke to manager, her took it off our tab. Paid for wings and 2 drinks.

Needless to say, Arena is not on my list of places to eat in Maricopa.  In fact, the list is getting bigger for places not to dine in Maricopa. Nothing like home cooking.

Hello sorry  you didnt enjoy I have been very pleased with the special mussel dish over at Brooklyn Bros. The lemon garlic butter sause is well worth  the dipping of bread alone. peace

Okay, I'm not too crazy about the food myself, but Arena is one of the only places that accomadate me and my friends pretty comfortably.  We usually have a great time there late night.

I am not sure what kind of portions you are used to, but in my opinion the fish and chips is pretty large. If you were sharing it, maybe not so much, but it is usually more than enough for one person. But I do agree with the home cooking statement; not one of the restaurants has food as good as home cooking (except perhaps arena's beef enchiladas, which I cannot make, lol).

The last time we went there, our waiter was so disinterested that I had to chase him down for every da*n thing. He was nice enough, but more interested in talking to the folks at the bar.

There are enough options now that I don't have to go back.

I had the fish there when they had fish. I ate two plates and was good and filled me up. I tried the Mexican place next to napa had the fish there you get a whole fish cooked any way you want for I think it was around $10 bucks. Not bad. Need more fish places in town.

Never had an issue. They take care of the kids and the manager is always asking about the meal when we are there. I did get caught in the fish problem a couple weeks ago, but it has been since fixed to my knowledge.

I still can't believe this thread was made to complain about the fairly large sizes at Arena (or any other restaurant, for that matter) not being big enough. Maybe you should have bought two if it was for two people. And to complain after it was taken off your bill? Just sounds like you were being cheap to me. I mean we all want to save money, but maybe you shouldn't be going out to eat at a restaurant if you couldn't afford two meals. Bashing local businesses for your mistake won't really improve anything.
