Hubby had the Fenway hotdog and sweet potato fries. The ranch dipping sauce is amazing! I had the Chipotle Mac mac, and it was delicious! Our service weas great-- def going back

Alert | | Have been to Teakwoods many times. Generally the service has been good. When the service has not been good it has been at the bar. The waiters and waitresses on the floor are good, but, the bartenders, not so much. So, I go real light on the tips to those behind the bar. They should thank the staff out on the floor!!!

Alert | | My wife and I went last Tuesday, at about 6pm. It wasn't "busy," that is to say 1/4 of the tables were empty, and there was no wait to get in. But service was deplorable. No smiles, no friendliness. Long wait for 2 sandwiches to come out. And I think one refill on drinks. Having worked in the industry, I can't even figure out why it's so slow. It's really sad, because they could have an amazing opportunity out here. The person who opens a family friendly restraunt with quality food, fast friendly service, and good price could coast into retirement out here. Unfortunately no one has figured out the right formula yet.

Alert | We had similar bad service a few weeks ago. We spoke to the manager and he tried to make us understand- but we were tired and hungry and the place wasn't busy at all. No excuses. They brought me a meal that was inedible and I sent it back and didn't order anything else.
DH is a very mellow person and he told the manager that he wouldn't return until they got their act together. WOW!
We still frequent other locations, though. I just think that Maricopa is the death knell for restaurant service. | | Poster formerly known as Sassafrass.

Alert | | It is hard to hire people who say they have experience, to find out that they do not work out. Sometimes when I am in there with my family, we experience slow service, and sometimes we experience quick service. When we experience slow service I remember that some employees are new to the job and are still trying to get a handle on things. Last week we went there and we were one of five families sitting there and it took forever to get our food. The server was on day one; still, he did a great job with refills, apologies, and smiles. The blonde server, in my mind, has to be the best as she is very curteous and polite. We do not go into the bar area, so I , of course, can not speak for that area. I do know that the owner cares about his restaurant and what happens in there. Like all places, give it time.

Alert | | We went in there the other night and we received excellent service from our waitress Sharon. She made sure our drinks were filled at all times and checked on us frequently. The food was great. My kids actually ate. That's how I know when the food is good somewhere. We will be return customers. Ask for Sharon next time your in.

Alert | | I have always had first rate service!! Get to know the staff, everyone, they love the repeat business and will go out of their way to make things right. Kudos to Tommy, Allison and all the rest, opening a restaurant is one of the toughest experiences in business. I recommend for all you 21+ folk to grab a seat at the bar and let Nate and Danny keep your drinks full, and enjoy the nuts!!! Kudos to Teaks, glad to have new friends and good food in town!!

Alert | | We've always had great service there too! We love it! We went there Friday night and it was a bit crowded, but our service didn't suffer because of it. It was my son's b-day so it was his choice of where we ate and he picked Teakwoods. We did tell the waiter it was his b-day and he said he'd bring him out a brownie. Well that was the only thing he forgot. He brought us our check and no brownie so I reminded him of it and he brought it out like 5min later. It was HUGE and they give it out free for b-days. My son was a happy camper! He's only 7, so that literally made his day. I should have told him about his b-day when we placed our order, but I didn't tell him until later, so that could be my fault for his not remembering. I love their food and I'm so glad that we have a great restaurant to choose from now out here in the Copa.

Face it! You guys have very little options in Maricopa, when it concerns going out to eat.
The service may/may not suck, but you guys keep going there and it's almost always crowded.
I doubt all the bad talk is going to effect their business...
I dont know, I think Ramsey's is an example of how bad food and bad service will shut down a place here.

Alert | | We have been several times and the service was always ok (not great, but ok). This last visit I ordered my favorite dish (that I always get) and it tasted very different than usual and was horrible. I mentioned it to the waiter and could only eat a few bites. The waiter took my plate and said he would mention it to the manager. I never heard another word about it and when we received the bill, the item was still charged. So I got charged for a meal that I couldnt eat and nothing else was even offered. Needless to say, that will unfortunately be the last visit to Teakwoods. No customer service whatsoever

Alert | We went to the bar at Teaks Saturday evening...not only was it dead, but they had this bouncer-type fellow that made the entire experience unpleasant. A couple at the table next to us was having a nice time - they weren't being obnoxious or causing trouble. The man set his glass down a little harder than normal while emphasizing a point (we could hear their conversation) and the bouncer guy races over to their table and tells him not to "slam their things around" and "we can't have you tearing up our establishment". Are you kidding me?!
The man calmly asked him what he did to upset him and the bouncer guy just told him to "calm down". So, the bouncer guy left and we started chatting with the table and we told them jokingly we'd "slam" (more of a thunk) our peanut bucket down in support and we did. He laughed and "thunks" his peanut bucket in agreement. The bouncer comes racing over, the waitress took their drinks away and brought them their check! He points to us and says "they did it, too!" We laughed and admitted we did it, too. But, they totally singled these people out. Seriously, I've seen children throw things harder than this!
So, as the couple was leaving, the man walked up to the bouncer and shook his hand - he told him he didn't know what he did to upset him and he hoped he had a good night. The bouncer guy pulled his hand back, said something under his breath, and the couple left angry.
I'm not sure what this was all about, but we left because in between all of this, the bouncer guy was eyeing each table and just hovering at the entrance. It was very weird and uncomfortable. Perhaps they've had some issues on the weekends with people getting unruly, but this guy seriously needs to lighten up!
As for the service, we always enjoy meals there and have rarely had a problem with service or poor meals. We'll definitely be back - we might just skip the nightlife (or lack thereof). | | "Even if you're on the right path, you'll get run over if you just sit there."

I'm not looking for a new friend, I'm looking for a good eating establishment with decent prices and service.

Alert | Weve had bad service also. Its a shame cause I really like the bar. They just need some supervision. The last time we went there we had a server help us after sitting about 10 mins and it took another 10 to get our 2 beers. I gave her the benefit of the doubt cause it was a little busy but after watching her chat with with a customer that must have been a friend cause they were talking about hairdoos for about 10 mins. After she walked by my empty beer about 3 times I flagged her and got the tab and went to Arena. Our server at Arena was awsome that night. He even shook my hand and said take care. That was odd but very cool. We tipped him 40% on a pretty large tab cause he earned it.
This type of thing has been a regular occurance. I'd say maybe 1 out of 5 times we got solid service @ Teakwoods and Im really considering switching my main bar to Arena. | | Pizzaking Wasnt a member 0 posts

Alert | | I've been to Teakwoods only once and had a great time, but it wasn't during the normal rush either.... but I've been to Native New Yorker several times and never had a problem with bad service which is why they get my repeat business again and again...... I hear so many negatives about Teakwoods that I haven't even been there on a weekend...... and now that I read that they have this bouncer/??? Forget it....
