 Alert | Hi all... I'm kind of new to the site and Maricopa. I know the topic of scrapping get-togethers has come up in a few threads.
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in coming to a "croptoberfest" type of thing sometime next month. My neighbor and I were thinking about renting our clubhouse in the Villages. From that, maybe smaller groups could get to know each other and meet on a more regular basis?
For the record I'm not a rep for anything - I don't want to step on any toes. <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'> I am thinking of investing in a Pazzle Creative Cutter and would happily bring that and my laptop to do custom cutting for a nominal fee. I am a graphic designer (freelance) and an avid scrapper of 10 years. Just went to the CK convention this weekend and am now feeling quite inspired!
Anyway, general thought is I would cater, and if anyone does rep for CM or anything else (stamps, paper crafts) maybe we could coordinate.
I'm expecting and not working right now so I'm game to head something like this up if enough people would want to join in the fun!

Alert | UPDATE: WHAT DATES WORK BEST?
October 20th, 27th or should we look at November? Most have said the 13th is not good because of fall break, and I have to pick my kids up at the airport that evening so that would not work well for me either... Would be nice to avoid getting too close to Thanksgiving but also give people time to work on gift projects for the holidays.
Also, Villages clubhouse may not work for a few reasons. I could accommodate as many as 12 guests at my house.

Alert | UPDATE: Dates/Times Set!
Here's what I've come up with, which hopefully will accommodate many... for those of you who can't attend, I'll be sure to let you know if I will host a similar event in November if all goes well.
WHAT: Scrapbooking/paper crafts get together. Light snacks for night crop, lunch and snacks provided Saturday.
WHEN: Friday, October 19th from 6-11 pm; Saturday October 20th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with option to come all day.
WHERE: My home in Villages @ RED
If you would like more information, please PM me with questions or to receive an invitation with further details. Due to space limitations, reservations will be required. (I have room for about 12-15 guests total in each time slot).
A LITTLE ABOUT ME... I'm new to Maricopa, moved here from Chandler in July. My daughter is in 3rd grade at Santa Rosa. I'm expecting a new baby in January. I used to attend organized crop events regularly in Tempe - I loved getting to know new people, sharing ideas (and leftover supplies!) and having a dedicated time and place to get something done. But I didn't always like feeling obligated to buy something or to follow any one philosophy. Thus my goal with this is to have fun, any business networking is purely optional.
