Fantastic!!

My husband and I just moved to Copa from Seattle last month.  We miss our friends and family and wish to meet some other couples who enjoy outdoor living, ie; BBQ's, beers, mojitos, great conversation and superb food.

We hosted a monthly dinner group there- Here is how it worked.  Couples and singles get together each month for a potluck hosted at one participants house.  Each month the group chooses a theme for the food. The hosting home provides a cocktail within the theme and their own dish, as well as all implements of eating and drinking.  All other participants bring a dish within the theme.  Would anyone be interested in joining in on this?

We would love to get together with other folks as well for scrabble, poker, apples to apples, pictionary, monopoly etc.

Please reply to me at seattlewindsong@yahoo.com  or give me a jingle at 602-476-8053 ( I work at home so I am also available during the day for crafting things and lunches)

That is an awsome idea. I would be game as long as I am not the only single person there of course.

So what category do you fit in if you are Single, One income, One kid, never been married? Does this mean that you cannot relate to married couples? or cannot relate to dual income households? or cannot relate to childless people? Does having a child and not having the relationship limit you to some unknown group? If you are not a DINK and not a Sink then are you SUNK?

I dont beleive that relating to one another has much to do with the labels.  It certainly gives any group of folks a starting point of having common lifestyles, but I think we are so much more than that.  At least I hope so!!

We are a single income couple without kids. So what does that make us.  I can relate to folks who are single with kids, I can relate to couples with kids.  Do I want to spend a great deal of time hanging out with munchkins?  Nope, not at all.  I have no patience for the energy levels.  Thats why I chose to not have children.  I am a great auntie- always have gum- spoil em rotten then send them home to terrorize their parents-   LOL!!!

Lets start talking about a dinner gathering in August.  My husband and I will host it!!!  We dont have a pool but we have lots of room ( no furniture in the formal living room yet!!)  We have plenty of seating and a BBQ- So lets start talking about a theme- PM me with your ideas and whether you can attend.  It will have to be a Friday night as my hubby currently works on Saturdays- Or if Friday is a push- He can put in for the night off as long as we set a date soon!!!

Greetings All,

We are pleased to announce the forming of the Maricopa Dinner Group. This is an adult only event to repeat on the 3rd Friday of each month @ 7:30 pm.  There are no dues or fees to participate.  Just a love of good food, drink and company.

We have decided to move forward with this monthly gathering.  Each month a different participant will be asked to host the dinner.  Each month the group will choose a different theme.  All foods/drinks prepared should fit into the theme, and yes you can practice creative license.

We ask each member to bring a potluck dish to serve 6-8 folks within the theme.  Each month the hosting home will provide a potluck dish as well as a cocktail within the theme.  The hosting home will also provide utensils and such.  If you wish to drink something other than the listed cocktail, we ask that you BYOB!!

We also highly recommend you joining the Maricopa Dinner Group E-list.  To join the E-group please send a pm to me with your email address embedded in the body of the message and I will send you an invitation to join the e-list. Or you can visit the below url to send and subscription request to me.

If you have food allergies, please post them to the e-list so folks may omit them from their recipes or be certain to mention the ingredient during their dish presentation.

Looking forward to having you join us!!!
