My wife an I moved out here about 6 months ago.  We think Maricopa could be a great place to live, but we are really struggling meeting friends who like to get together and party/have fun.  We are in our mid thirties, professional, and relatively normal couple (most of the time).

Not looking for anything strange, just some grilling, cocktails, watching in-season sports, enjoying the pool, and some drink induced semi-intelligent conversation.

Never ran into this problem before in any places we lived.

Curious, if anyone else is experiencing this, and if yes, any ideas?

Hallelujah! I was so happy to see your post!

My husband and I are in the same situation as you and your wife. It would be great to meet other couples to hang out with. Grilling, watching sports, enjoying drinks, and playing cards or video games would be fantastic.

Feel free to PM me or just reply on the thread.

Why do people feel the need to post ridiculous and irrelevant comments?

Lots of construction workers too. Being a DINK with 2 professional jobs and a DINK with a construction worker / job at Bashas are two completely different things. Be warned.

If the couple is nice though, who cares what they do for a living? Unless it is illegal of course.....

I realize this is extremely short notice, but I'm terribly bored, too hot to do anything else.........I'm going down to Native New Yorker to eat dinner. If there is anyone out there who would like to join me, I'd love to meet you. I'm thinking 5:15 pm, but could adjust the time. Would love to meet some new friends!!!! I'll check back in 1 hr., before I leave.

We are in the same boat.  We have met a few very nice couples but its been hard to get together with them.  My husband is normally working on the weekends so our best days are tue, wed, thurs.  If anyone wants to plan dinner on one of those nights that would be great.

Fantastic!!

My husband and I just moved to Copa from Seattle last month.  We miss our friends and family and wish to meet some other couples who enjoy outdoor living, ie; BBQ's, beers, mojitos, great conversation and superb food.

We hosted a monthly dinner group there- Here is how it worked.  Couples and singles get together each month for a potluck hosted at one participants house.  Each month the group chooses a theme for the food. The hosting home provides a cocktail within the theme and their own dish, as well as all implements of eating and drinking.  All other participants bring a dish within the theme.  Would anyone be interested in joining in on this?

We would love to get together with other folks as well for scrabble, poker, apples to apples, pictionary, monopoly etc.

Please reply to me at seattlewindsong@yahoo.com  or give me a jingle at 602-476-8053 ( I work at home so I am also available during the day for crafting things and lunches)
