AUL did my backyard also and it ROCKS!

How about all you SAD, LONELY, LAME People do your beat downs in private where they belong. If you have an issue with a contractor or a business, you report them to the ROC and the BBB. Public humiliation just makes the original poster look RETARDED in this type of thread.

I checked AUL for BBB and ROC reports. No BBB reports and 1 resolved ROC report. Where are all the reports from all the complainers at? The only thing you get from public humiliation is self indulgence.

My dealings with AUL were not perfect and I paid for a premium backyard. When something went astray I addressed the owner of the company and got it resolved. My expectations were met in a fairly timely fashion and I'm a satisfied customer.

Take care of business the right way, or just shut the heck up.

Forum complainers = Special Olympics.

I LOVE my backyard by AUL! They did such a great job. Any issues I had, RJ resolved. He also went above and beyond for us.
The artifical turf they installed is FANTASIC!
We love them, and will use them again, if we need more help with plants.

Hey AlanF, may I ask? What type of landscaping did you get? Was it really expensive? And did you have a drip watering system installed with it? I'm curious, I'm wanting some grass in the backyard, it's all rocks, which makes no sense in Arizona as to the heat that will be retained in them during the Summer. There are some flowering plants placed here and there with a drip system, but there were some mushy parts to the yard, so we shut it off (I know there's a break or two somewhere, our water bill went down by $70.00 afterwards).  Anyone with advice would be appreciated also.

Also, please don't liken the forum complainers to Special Olympics, that's not nice to compare the lovely people in the Spec. Olym. to them.

Hopefully tomorrow the monetary resolution...

Hey YoHo. What happened to this:

"Ratboy, you and I disagree on the details of our dispute, but in retrospect you are correct that this is a matter that should be cleared up in private. Hopefully the "resolution" that was provided by Robert will settle our differences."

Ratboy already stated what was up. If you still have issues then take action legally...there is no MATURE reason for you to post anything more here.

Let me ask you something Alanf. Why is this company extended priviliges that do not exist for say an H& N Landscaping, the local Jack In the Box, or maybe your own HOA? Platitudes and and criticisms abound on the forum, and yet you selected this as your own personal crusade. Lots of people register or lurk on these forums and they take the recommendations or criticisms, run them through their own personal filter, and decide whether they have bearing on decisions that they will make in selecting a gym, community or even a landscaper. The resolution, like most of their promises to us, did not come to fruition. I sat back and watched as individuals, who have had PAST dealings with them continue to rave about that service. But where is the relavancy? Where is the balence. Is this merely a forum where only positive relationships with individuals, companies, or public figures may be shared? You tell me. If someone were to visit this thread for the first time, they may not realize that something may be amiss with this company.

And by the by...Ratboy's account is not necessarily the gospil. I am not presuming that my account should be given any more credence than his, but there is a supension that has lingered for over a month. I am kind saying "where there is smoke..."

Oh, and speaking of maturity, it is YoHI, not "YoHo. Maybe it was ignorance or poor typing skills...

Sorry, I am unable to respond to your rants. You used to many big words for me YoHi .

My point is this though. If you, or Anybody is committed to getting good performance from AUL, H&N, Jack in the Box, Baskin Robbins, HOAs...posting on this public forum does NOTHING more that satisfy the poster. Sure, it will give other people that don't have the ability to think further than a forum to form a basic decision.

But if you really want to help everybody, even the company you are unhappy with, you have to complain to the place that will hit them where it actually hurts. The BBB for just about anything, and the ROC for an instance like this.

So for AUL the BBB has this:
Contract Issues

BBB Definition:

Contract  Issues - Claim of alleged failure to honor contract or agreement, work performed without authorization, or invalid contract.

  Resolved
1 - Company addressed the complaint issues. The consumer failed to acknowledge acceptance to the BBB.

1 issue resolved.

And the ROC:

Resolved/Settled/
Withdrawn:

1
This is the number of complaints closed against this contractor that were resolved or settled by the contractor or withdrawn by the complainant after issuance of a corrective work order or formal citation.

1 issue resolved (probably the same?)
Suspended license due to expired bond.

I see nothing pending so everybody must be happy huh?

So if you are getting screwed by a company and don't go after them properly to fix it, you must be enjoying the screwing.

I will leave you to your landscaping woes though. Good Luck.

azv,

In a nutshell, AUL employees are deceitful and never follow through with their promises. I can not attest to their past performance, but I know that my relationship with their company has in the short term cost my wife and I over $2500. We had the same experience at the contract signing, where they were very attentive and accomodating. We provided them with a downpayment for the job and then their license was suspended two days later. We tried to work with them, but after a number of broken promises and outright lies we requested a refund. AUL provided us with an NSF check. The owner of the company promised to meet me and pay us via a cashiers check. We set up meetings and each time he had an excuse as to why he did not have our money. Finally I filed papers with the Registrar of Contractors and will be submitting paperwork this week to file a civil suit seeking the return of our money. Individuals such as Alanf continue to praise their PAST performance. That has absolutely no bearing on their present "lack" of performance. Rumor has it that they are attempting to sell the company. Buyer beware!!! Consumers beware!!! They are not to be trusted.

AZV, If you know me at all you will know that I kill myself on a daily basis to strive for excellence. No not perfection as that would be impossible for anybody. What ever your complaint is I am unaware and have not had the chance to resolve them. I keep up with my clients and try to resolve every situation to the customers satisfaction, however if I understand you correctly we do have an issue or you have an complaint that has not been resolved and apparently you have gotten no where with our staff. I apologize for that issue and if I knew your problem I would be more that willing and capable to handle. We have many happy clients and yes our record is one that we are very proud of. We have given EVERYTHING for this company and we will not let a couple of bad issues go unresolved.

I am more then happy to resolve this with you - I have replied to your private message.

RJ, I find that it is very interesting the conciliatory tone of your response to AZV regarding their concerns about unreturned phone calls and the unsatisfactory work performed by Arizona Unique Landscaping. Whereas you felt the need to question my integrity, but to divulge a clients name on an open forum. I don’t need to hide behind a veil of secrecy, but it demonstrates the lack of professionalism that has been exhibited by your organization throughout our brief and very unhappy business relationship.

Be careful when casting stones at others, because it seems to me that your current client base appears to be waning and that your deliberate attempts to deceive are finally coming to light. You obviously don’t want that negative light shone upon you or your organization, but you must then operate in a completely honest manner.

I have no hidden agenda. You and I both know that I physically handed you a check for $2,522.80 on February 9, 2008. Shortly after that fateful meeting, we discovered that your company lacked a bond and that for some reason you have been unsuccessful in obtaining a new one. Your father indicated that it was a “credit worthiness” problem, but that notwithstanding, your license has been suspended for over a month and a half.

At this point, I don’t care about the status of your license. I paid you the down payment and upon mutual consent of your father Robert, it was decided that our payment would be refunded. That would have been that, had it not been for the fact that you have provided me with an NSF check and have not remitted payment for said check. Simple as that…I could care less about your payment to vendors, or material purchases, or the tea in China for that matter.

Your father first promised to make good on the “bad” check approximately 3 weeks ago. You have had that amount of time to make good on the check. You possess no documentation that would suffice in explaining why you absconded with our money. You question my maturity? Please…You are obviously delusional and that should cause others to question the veracity of any statement uttered by you.

We could have parted ways amicably, but the onus was upon your organization to adhere to their promise. And how dare you speak of “flawed character.” The true measure of a person, at least in my eyes, is if they follow through on their commitments or promises. Even if your life is in shambles, it is not responsible or right to impose that on others. You are guilty of that. Incidentally, I took you up on your offer of phoning you and again received your voicemail. As always, feel free to pay us our money and this is a moot point.

I used AUL for my house last summer - they did a fantastic job, were on time, and had no problems. I will definitely use them again. My sales guy was Brandon - he was excellent at facilitating the whole process.

I want to post a positive for AUL. As this forum stated, we know members of AUL went through and are going through some tough times. I wish them well and hope they become stronger because of it. God allows us to go through things from time to time to make us stronger.

I don't know how many companies will resolve issues past 90 days of a planting. AUL did stand by their deal for me and re-planted plants which died.

It isn't always about if we have issues, it is the issues were followed up on and a customer is taken care of. In my case, my place is being taken care of.

I recommend AUL for your work.
Keith
