Alert | Okay, so I've finally talked hubby into tiling my laundry room! I hate the vinyl flooring!
Hubby laid some tile in our old home and did a wonderful job. So I don't question his ability at all.
However, I do have a question. My laundry room is upstairs. We know we have to lay down hardybacker first before tile. But the whole pan that the wash machine sits in is bolted to the ground, and pretty securly might I add.
So do we tile around the pan? Pry it up somehow, tile and then put the pan over the new tile floor?
Thanks so much! | | If you can't spot the loser, it might be you

Alert | If you take it up then you'll have to re-secure it through the tiles that you just laid.
Might be the lazy way out but I for one would just tile up to it. | | Senior Member Posts: 4625 Joined: Feb 2006 | |

Alert | | If you tile around it or up to it be sure to seal the areas around the tiles or you may get leaks. I personally would pull it up, tile, replace and seal the bolts with silcone, might be over kill but if your washer hose breaks while you aren't home you'd possibly have a washer back on the bottom floor. | | The red head is BACK!!
