Alert | Our house will be 2500 sq feet and I was wondering what I can expect to pay as well as looking for painter recommendations. I would want everything painted...3 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, loft, FR, LR and Kitchen.
Would the cost include the paint and supplies? How long do you think it would take?
Thanks so much in advance for your help!!!

Alert | I think the normal price is $1/ sq.ft. We used the guy that painted the Hacienda models. (I forget the name of the company)That's what he charged and we did shop around and it was about the same give or take a bit. Obviously if you want any faux painting or ceilings done it will be extra. His name is Carlos #602/708/2517 We chose him because we had already seen his work. He was really great at showing up on time. Has a crew and was able to bust out our house (4k sq.ft.) in a matter of days cause we were on a time crunch. I would highly reccomend him. He did a really great job! | | Ppppppbbbbbbssssssssssttttttttt!

Alert | The $1/sq ft is accurate, however that is per sq ft of wall space, not livable space. We had a 3900 sq ft home which we only painted the common areas (no bedrooms or bathrooms) and it cost about $1500 plus about $450 for the paint from Frazee.
We hired a guy on referral, I don't have his name or number anymore, but he was unlicensed, so I would guess a licensed contractor will probably charge 50-100% more. He did great work and if I still had his number I would refer him. | | Just the good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm, Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Alert | I have painted my own living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms all for under $400....
Seems like if you have a bit of time you may want to DIY!

Alert | I have a decent sized house with those HUGE vaulted ceilings and walls. There was no way I was doing it myself! Not to mention I don't like heights...haha We painted everyroom and paid about $4k for it. He did a fast job (by request) and brought in more of his crew than he usually would have taken just so he could finish in the time table I gave him and didn't charge me extra. | | Ppppppbbbbbbssssssssssttttttttt!

Alert | Troy Roddam, 520-568-6772. He did our 2100 sq ft. house at a very reasonable rate and he did a fantastic job. He was not licensed at that time, but that was 2 years ago.
He did the mural at Santa Rosa elementary school. We had him do 2 murals in our house and we love them.
He also painted the rest of the house. He did a fantastic job and paid attention to the smallest details. We didn't paint the ceilings (who does anymore) and his lines of paint to the top of the wall were great, very even. I don't know why, but when I see uneven lines at the top of the wall it drives me crazy! <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/hehe.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='HeHe' align='absmiddle'>
I would highly recommend him.
