06/09/2008 2:12 PM Alert

I have a new front loading washer (Whirlpool or Kennmore) In general I like the way it works except for one thing, I use the recommended amount of HE laundry soap but whenever I do towels and dry them they smell fine, but after one use they seem to get a musty smell to them. Quite sometime ago someone mentioned a filter or trap somewhere under the washer or in front, I looked for my manuel and could not find any mention of a filter somewhere. I also am conscious about cleaning and leaving my door open.

I used to have that too, but seem to have corrected it by doing two things.

1. I put a very small amount of bleach in the water and mix it around before I put the towels and washcloths in. (color loads too)

2. I started drying the towels a little longer - I think I was taking them out too soon and they wre not drying all the way.

I haven't had that problem since. Maybe you already do these things but if not, it's worth a try! Good luck!
