I chose to buy through Spencer's. We don't move until November/December so I can't tell you anything more. I hope I made a good choice :/

Ours came with the house.. sorry.. I think it's puretech.. not sure.

Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

We went and checked out Maricopa Plumbing. We are going to go with them (probably), but need to find someone to drill the hole for the RO in our granite counter. Anyone know anyone who does things like that? anyone? anyone?

Hrmmm I'm surprised the builder didn't provide a hole in the sink for that. If you have a seperate sprayer and don't use/need it you can take that out and use that hole, or you can PM Pkat and see if he can do it.

Our builder told us they wouldn't cut the hole unless we bought their RO system. If anyone else cuts the hole in the granite it voids the warranty on the counter. So we chose to do the RO with the builder which is PureTech and then we are going to buy the softener elsewhere.

We got ours from Home Depot.

It wasn't difficult to install. Maybe a days work.

Besides the swamp cooler it was the best investment that we did.

We had Maricopa Mountain install both the water softener and the RO. Our house did nothave the loop and they did that as well all for $1800!!!! We've been extremely happy with the work they did!

Rule11,
I was just looking at the paperwork we just got from Maricopa Mountain plumbing. They will install a 48,000 grain (Large) softener for about $900 ($840ish for a small 32,000 grain one) and a 5 stage RO for about $350 as long as the house is pre-plumbed. The prices we got from Home Depot in CG are slightly cheaper, but I think we will stick with the local company with such a small difference.

hmmm?

i think sticking with local is, slightly, a good idea. i mean if i have someone from outside of the city they might charge me an arm and a leg, unless i buy the equipment and install it myself. well, i'm moving pretty soon and i'm gonna continue to search.

thanks for the info!

after being quoted about $5000 from a company that came knocking on our door when we moved in, we thought we were screwed! we absolutely needed a water softener due to eczema and a r/o due to the fact that you just cannot consume maricopa water....so, after countless hours on the internet, i found costless water. i think they are out of chandler and awhatukee. i spent around $1500 for both. it's the best water softener out there (they were having a special) and if i bought that one, they threw a really good r/o in for free. not sure what kinds of deals they are having now, but give em a call. (480)894-0770 is the # for the company that installed it. but i think you can call 800costless. it's on the internet. and yes, they did drill a hole in my sink and let me pick the color of faucet i wanted as well.

this time i want a smart president!

We had great service from Advantage Pure Flow. (Frank Deshong) They do advertise on this site and in the 85239 magazine. We we were not preplumbed and still got a great price! I did shop around and he was the best. (No more film/spots on those dishes!) I have referred him to at least 3 people so far. (All have bought from him) Tell him Danielle sent you!!

I thought Maricopa Plumbing went out of business? I needed supplies and could have sworn someone said that. Is this not true? They are still in business?

FGV>...........

We got ours from Arizona Environmental Inc. in Phoenix. They came out, tested the water and showed how much better it was. I am greatly impressed and pleased with our system. We have the exact same system(only smaller version) as water and ice uses in all there stores alng with numerous other companies. 602-276-7600 if you want to get more info.

Heat Sprite we had Rayne do our RO and water softener. We rented there equipment for three months before deciding that we really liked it. They did all the install (including drilling the hole in our granite, they hired that out separately, and it looks great). When we did buy Rayne came and took there stuff out and we bought a better less expansive system online (free delivery). All my husband had to do was hook up the new stuff to where to old stuff way.

We used http://www.costlesswater.com/default.htm they are right on Priest and Elliott in Tempe. AdvataPure softener with classic 300 RO system. Couldn't be happier.

I went with Kinetico system. It wasn't cheap, but I was very happy with the results. We didn't have the loop installed when we had the house built...(kicking myself), but they did a good job and the installation looks clean.

We did the RO and the Softener, and it was just under 5K. That did include installation of the plumbing, since we didn't have the loop.
