We just moved here this week from the Arcadia area of Phoenix, and we seem to have lots of new (to us) critters out here. I think we are being invaded. There are these little creeps that are about a centimeter long and have antennas and look like baby crickets (but aren't). Does anyone know of a good pesticide for them, or do we need to get an exterminator?

Yes, that's really my name

Honestly, I would just hire an exterminator. Not just for the type of bug you described (I think it's an earwig) but also for the other types of creatures we get out here. When we first moved into our house, we had Black Widows galore! My Mom lives in El Dorado and she has a problem with wolf spiders.

We use Bulwark, and we are pleased with them. Knock on wood, but we have not seen one Black Widow since we started using them.

By the way, Welcome to Maricopa!

They are "small black beetles" that get blown in on the wind, you really shouldn't be seeing many since we haven't had any wind storms in a few months /smartmouth off

I've seen quite a few too, but mine usually die fast with my every other month exterminater visit.

The red head is BACK!! (and still mouthy)

We had June Bugs, but those are gone. I hadn't seen June Bugs in quite a few years here. They don't hurt, but if they get in the house they can keep you awake at night buzzing around. I know of some black beetles that like water and bite. I don't know what they are called. We had a horrible problem with big spiders taking up residence in our pool rock. Stormin Normin has solved that problem. Did you know spiders can walk on water, and actually run toward you in the pool?

I just really wish there was some real way to get rid of the mosquitos.
