Hello,

We are looking to install 4 ceiling fans all are prewired and no vaulted ceilings. 2 will have lights and two won't.

Does anyone know someone that charges a good price? We are looking to spend less than $50 a fan.

Thats pretty cheap for an installation. When we moved into our home we paid extra for
cieling fan boxes or braces to keep the fans from rocking back and forth. Upon the first installation of a fan which was considerably heavy and noticing a swaying problem; I had to build a 2 x 6 frame in the cieling to hold such great weight. The cheap brace the builder put in was discarded and replaced with a heavy duty brace with a box around that. After install, and turning on the fan at a high speed there is no rocking. In fact I could hang a chandelier
from that spot and not worry about it falling down. I'm sure there is someone in town that will cheaply install your fans at your price; take in consideration the above first though.

ceiling fans are actually very very very simple to install if your house has been prewired for it. you'll need a few basic tools; screw drivers, maybe an adjustable wrench, and possibly a wire stripper, but a utility knife can be used too. its simply a matter of turning off power at the panel outside the house, then unscrewing the old fixture, untwisting the wires and wire nuts. then to install the fan just connect the same color wires, and attach the fan to the block. the directions that come with the fan are usually detailed and written for first timers.

I highly recommend Shawkes Electric. We had Shane install 5 ceiling fans and three can lights in our home. He did an excellant job for an excellant price. Our home is now ready for the hot summer and the exterior of our home is well lit up especially in the front proch area where Shane installed a pair of Can lights under the porch cover. He is very dependable, fast, cleans up after his work and shows up when he said he would. He even called to request to come earlier.

We tried using one company on 85239 and they didn't show up till 4 hours later and never called to tell us that they were going to be late. When that guy showed up I just looked at him and told him go home.

We eventually plan on having Shane install under the Cabinet lighting in our Kitchen as well. Thanks Shane for a great job well done. Again, I highly recommend Shane of Shawkes Electric.

I agree...Shawkes Electric (Shane) is really a nice guy. He did a ceiling fan and coach light for us and we definitely plan to use him again! I love to support local businesses that give good service!

I put all 5 of mine in and went to San diego and put one in my mom's house.

They are very easy to do and I just keep getting faster and faster at it. give it a shot yourself first....see what happens.

If you pick the right day, I could come over and help you out. (just need to make sure the wife can watch the baby)
Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.

I Agree with Sinbad-

I just hung 5 this past weekend- The only time they get a little tricky is if you have a really high ceiling or you have fans with remote control (there is too much wire for the remote receiver and wire to fit in the bonnet- need to cut out the extra wire)

Get them up soon- it is starting to get hot already!

You are very smart to shop around for the best price as I found that some installers are way over-priced and you can get the same service with the economical installers.

Some people will do anything to get elected!

(Can't get enough of the free money!)
Just doing it one day at a time. Change is good and it should be looked upon as an improvment! not a problem.
