ceiling fans are actually very very very simple to install if your house has been prewired for it. you'll need a few basic tools; screw drivers, maybe an adjustable wrench, and possibly a wire stripper, but a utility knife can be used too. its simply a matter of turning off power at the panel outside the house, then unscrewing the old fixture, untwisting the wires and wire nuts. then to install the fan just connect the same color wires, and attach the fan to the block. the directions that come with the fan are usually detailed and written for first timers.
