Wow! I am so upset I just had to tell someone.
I went to Lo Ann nails today to have a pedicure. I took with me the $5.00 off coupon that Lo Ann nails inserted into the valpack that gets mailed to us. When I went to pay they charged me $25.00 for the pedicure and then they charged me $5.00 for the use of the fan they led me to in order to dry the polish!! Then they took off the $5.00 for the coupon.

I asked a women sitting directly across from me if they had ever charged her to use the fan....and she looked at me funny and said no. I have been in there several times before and was never charged!! I checked their price list and they have no charge for the fan listed on their price list.

So needless to say I am out raged that Lo Ann nails has essentially overcharged me and is practicing such horrible business practices. You can bet I will never go back there and I intend to tell as many people as I can.

Has anyone else experienced this??

So you paid for air to dry what they did so you wouldn't mess them up and them have to re-do? I have never heard of any place charging for any of the air/UV drying systems. This is the one by Arena? I have been there many times-with a coupon-never had a problem. NOw the one by Fry's...I think they charge $5.00 more as soon as you walk in the door. LOL So sorry this happened to you!

I've been to LoAnn's many times too for manis and pedis and have never been charged for air. Are you sure you understood them correctly?

Thanks for the sympathy...I am feeling better today, although I think I am going to go back and complain. I don't want my money, but I want them to know I am angry at what they did.

I did not get any special top coat and yes, I am quite sure they charged me $5 for use of the fan/dryer. The man stood right there next to me and filled out a bill of sale and wrote it down plain as day. $25 for the manicure and $5 for the fan. Had I not been in there before I might have believed it, but I have been there several times since they opened.

LoAnn nails is located next to Brookly Boys behind Panda Express.

oh boy...do I feel stupid. I called Lo Ann today only to discover that the $5 they charged me was for the fact that I got a FRENCH pedicure.

When they were writing up the slip it was French they wrote on there...NOT fan!!

I am so sorry to have not checked on this in the first place and that I jumped to conclusions. I really thought he said fan. Next time I will ask to make sure before I start throwing out comments in anger.

Let me say that I have been to Lo Ann's several times and always been very pleased with the service there and I will be returning in the future.

Well, it is not your fault! The language barrier is quite difficult...do not feel bad. Maybe they will take note to clarify what they are selling so others do not feel left short changed.

Ya know? Thankyou! I don't work there, I have never been there..but thank you for posting a follow up on this. Not many people AT ALL would comeback here and admit a wrong doing on their OWN half. You give me hope that there are people who make mistakes and can admit them!!

I agree! I also hope they read this to make sure they change their selling habits. Well, not likely to happen...but make us aware to ask what are they actually trying to sell us!!

I'm glad you got it resovled, as I think they really are one of the better businesses in town. Let this be lesson to all - please try to resolve 'complaints' with local busineses before blasting them here on the forum. Hopefully this tread title doesn't steer customers away from them unneccesarily!

I went in there the other day for the first time and was very disapointed. I have heard nothing but great things about LoAnns. When I left some of my fingers were bleeding because he was in such a hurry and cut my fingers with the dremel thing, and he was talking to someone and filing my finger nails at the same time, not that I have a problem with multi tasking but he wasn't even looking at my hand while he was fiiling. On top of that I was just kinda bummed about how the nails looked in general. They sort of have this off white color going on, just not what I'm used to I guess.

Anways, did any body else notice this?? All of the men that work in the shop all sit toward the front of the store as you come in, and all of the women sit in the back at their little stations. Also I noticed that the men didn't really talk to the women very much but talked amongst each other. Just strange I guess.

You have to watch this skit from MadTv. The girl does a bit about how the Asain nail place girls always try to upsale you and you always agree to everything because you can't understand what they're saying, etc...Hilarious.The girls name is Anjelah Johnson.
