I agree that vinegar works the best on sunburns.... it works because it is an acid, and it helps to restore the normal PH of the "acid mantle" of your skin which is slightly shifted higher due to the chemical reaction caused when you burn your skin..... I often keep a bottle of white vinegar(less smelly) in the refrigerator just in case i get a sunburn..... the cold vinegar is really soothing! Also.... believe it or not, aspirin is great for helping to relieve the pain slightly... and also reduce some of the swelling you can have with serious sunburns..... |
