I figured that the leisure/entertainment foler would be the best place to put this. Arizona is such a beautiful state with such a variety of scenery, I figured I'd ask people: what are some of your favorite places to travel in the state--or even out of the state, if it's driveable?

We just went to the Desert Museum and aviary in Tucson last weekend. Once we got down near it the drive was beautiful! Lots of green trees, mountains and winding roads...very pretty
I also LOVE Sedona....and Strawberry... the town isn't all that but the landscape is reallt pretty we rented a cabin there last year and had a great time.

Ppppppbbbbbbssssssssssttttttttt!

My wife and I recently went down to the 'Mountain Kingdom'--Patagonia, Elgin, etc. southwest of Tucson. It's a really nice area, with its own unique look/feel. It's at a higher elevation with hills/mountains and very green (or it was when we went)--so considerably cooler than here. I hadn't known there was 'wine country' out here, but apparently out there the soil temperature is the same as in Napa, and they're getting some acclaim from the wines. The ones at the winery we visited were very good. We also went to Patagonia lake, which was very pretty.

I haven't been to Greer yet, have been to other parts of the white mountains/up above the rim (Heber/Overgaard, Pinetop, Lakeside, skiing at Sunrise). It's really a beautiful area, and really looks so different from so much of Arizona. This state really has a lot of beauty and diversity in terms of the scenery/different climate zones.

I haven't been to the Desert Museum yet--although I think I drove around there once and it was a really nice area. Speaking of which, ever been to Mount Lemmon, also in the Tucson area? It's a beautiful ride with stunning scenery and overlooks. You start out in the desert and end up in alpine forest, at about 9,00 feet--pretty soon because you're climbing pretty quickly.

Sedona is beautiful. The last time we were there we went to Slide Rock Park, which was great--refreshing in the middle of the summer.

Where is Strawberry? I've heard the name but never been there.

The Beeline highway up to Payson and the Rim country. Just got back from there and had a great camping trip. Sedona is always good too. Sierra Vista and Ramsey Canyon.

1.I love to go to Bisbee - the town is awesome and the view is even better with the copper colored mountains. Make sure you take the copper mine tour and have lunch at the Bisbee Breakfast Club.
2.Sedona - enough said there
3.Wickenburg - great little town with antique stores and the "Jail Tree"
