When I was younger (much younger) my mom would listen the the "Highwaymen" singing "In them ole cotton fields back home". I thought they were singing "Indian mold cotton fields back home".

Also, the "Monkees" song "Stepping Stone", I thought they were singing "In your book of lulus' when it's actually "In your book of Who's Who".

John Lennon's song and he says "nobody told me there would be days like these"
I was about 8-9 and thought it was "nobody told me I had knees like these" Me and my BFF used to sing to it because we thought it was a funny song...

"Riding through the desert on a horse with no legs".... ya, I was like 5 or 6.

And the majority of the words on Icky Thump from White Stipes - Now have CD and lyrics and still get it wrong.

REM's - End of the world as we know it - Michael Snipes can't even get the lyrics right on the song years later.

Who's using me, what should we do? Because you can't be a pimp and a prostitute too. - White Stripes

You will never top Louie Louie. Heck even the FBI did a full investigation of it and the state of Indiana banned it. Fbi final report after months of study was we don't know what the guy is saying. It took me years to understand it.

Yo Stink... it's "I screen my phone calls, no matter, matter, who calls.... I screen my phone calls..."

And it's "I'm walking in a spiderweb, so leave a message and I'll call you back." Huge No Doubt/Stefani fan!! This song is my ringer... <img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/smile.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Smile' align='absmiddle'>

Lyrics to half of the Flogging Molly songs! Unless I'm in an Irish bar and drunk...then I know all the words, atleast I think I do!

I used to think Golden Earing's 'when the bullet hits the bone' was 'when the pillow hits the phone'<img src='http://www.85239.com/desktopmodules/ntforums/images/emoticons/blush.gif' height='20' width='20' border='0' title='Blush' align='absmiddle'>

"gimme the beach boys and free my soul" Instead of "gimme the beat boys and free my soul"
Dobie Grays Drift Away...

Michael Jacksons "beat it" I thought it was "beat it, beat it no one wants to beat it beat it."
which makes NO sense.

the real lyrics are "beat it, beat it- no one wants to be defeated"

lol. That was closer than what I thought:" Tumble weeds, done dirt cheap.!"

You may remember this from the original 85239:

The rich ruleth over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender.

I still say Louie louie by the Kingsman will forever top misunderstood lyrics. 4 different versions of lyrics were studied by the FBI for two years of the number 2 charting hit. After two years of study to determine if the hit contained questionable lyrics the final fbi report said We cant figure out what the hell the guy is singing.
