Alert | | This thing rocks! The kids have been playing nonstop... Does anyone know how to do the internet connection though - it can detect my wireless network but it won't connect to it... Also, any other good games out there besides the Wii Sports? | | ~*~ Friends are God's way of apologizing to us for our families. ~*~

Alert | | Does your wireless network have any encryptions set up? Mine has the WEP encryption set up so I had to locate the WEP code on my router and enter it into the Wii's settings for it to connect to my network. | | Just the good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm, Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Alert | My favorite game so far is Big Brain Academy. It's fun to play with kids or adults. However it was a little depressing to see my first score. Let's just say my 8 year old beat me by 3 points.

Alert | We have one, and my girls love it, niece and nephews come over just to play it. The Wii Play is very easy to use, even for the first timers that come over to try it. We have not connected ours to the internet... yet. My daughter keeps bugging me to do it so she can have her little Mii parade Other games we tried.. Uhmm the monkeys banana blast one is pretty cool. that one takes a few tries to get used to the controller. | | "Being defeated is often a temporary condition. Alert | This might be a topic for another thread, but what attracted all of you to the Wii? I am an avid gamer, but the price of the "Next-Gen" consoles just blows me away. I think the console game companies are pricing people out of the market.
From an article I read earlier this week, the Wii has sold 2.8 million units compared to 1.4 million units in the same timeframe for the PS3. I am convinced that price has to be a major contributing factor for this.
Any ideas? | | | |

Alert | | Cpt - actually I had the choice between an Xbox 360 and the Wii. While the Xbox 360 would have been awesome for me and my husband; I knew the whole family would enjoy the Wii. We bought it on Wednesday at the Chandler Fashion Gamestop/EB Games and we've been playing it nonstop ever since. Mainly the Wii Sports, although I upped my membership at the DVD Game Depot to allow us to rent one game/one DVD at a time for this month - so we're going to try out a few different games. Everyone that I've spoken to has said that this has been a great investment towards family entertainment. I would definitely agree!!! | | ~*~ Friends are God's way of apologizing to us for our families. ~*~

Alert | | Cpt, I have a 360 and a Wii, both are great in their own right. The 360 is good for more hardcore gaming (Halo, GOW, etc) whereas the Wii is good for sports and family orientated games. The Wii does have shooter games and other games the more traditional systems have, but IMO I don't think they are as easy to control as on the more traditional systems which makes them not as fun, at least to me. | | Just the good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm, Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

Alert | I have all the game consoles my dh is a big wannabe gamer. lol He's a collector and we have to beg him just to open them up. For the wii we have:
1. Wii sports- Love it! 2. Legend of Zelda- not opened 3. Mavel ultimate alliance- Not Opened. 4. Trauma Center- Not Opened 5. Raymon- MY FAVORITE EVER!!!! 6. Super Monkey Ball- Not Opened 7. Red Steel- Not Opened..... well he took off the wrapper. lol 8. Wii Play- Not Opened 9. Sonic- Not Opened
We have the ps3 and all of the games and accessories have never been touched. I had elected not to get the PS3 because we have 3 PS2's and a Playstation. I felt it was wayyyy to much money! When it first came out they sold them in bundles which cost about $800. That is wayyy to much for a gaming system even if we can afford it. The games they had weren't family games or something that I wanted as a woman. I am not into fighting, guns or demon games.
I have always been a huge Nintendo fan and they always have a game for me to play. My all time favorite is Raymon because it has a ton of short games and they get harder and harder. I can't wait for wii fitness to come out and the dance revolution type game. They'll be lots of fun. Just my 2 cents.

Alert | babytamtam,
All those games are UNOPENED!?!? That's just not right! Even if he's collecting as an investment, gamers want to game, not look at the box. Action figures may be worth more MIB, but games need to be played... that's just so wrong!

Alert | | I have not played with a video game system so long since the Super Nintendo. I freakin' love our wii. It is so much fun and my kids want to play all the time. The games we love the most are Mario Party 8 & Big Brain Academy. Hubby is playing Transformers. This system is the coolest. | | A diamond with a flaw is worth more than a pebble without imperfections.

Alert | Trogdor,
Tell me about it. I bought half of them for him and I said I would only buy them if he PROMISED TO PLAY THEM! He said he would but I should've known. That's not even the half of it. We have over 400 plus box sets and dvds that aren't even opened. What a waste! He says he'll play them when he gets old. But what 80 year old wants to watch old movies and play video games.?

Alert | When he gets older!?!? That's when he'll be playing the next-next-gen games. Not that there's anything wrong with playing old games, but part of the fun is the nostalgia. I like playing the old Super Mario Bros., but I wouldn't be able to appreciate it even half as much if I never played it as a child.
ugh... the whole thing just seems so wrong, so unnatural!
