A neighbor of yours lost a tree and it had to be removed.

They are under the impression they MUST have TWO trees planted in the front yard...another RED resident told me NO you do not have to have two trees in the front.

Considering the design of their front yard they would be better off NOT replanting a tree if they don't have to...and save the cost..

That is why I ask...if you have a copy of the front yard landscaping rules
would you kindly let me know?

Thanks in advance!

Under "design guidelines" I don't see a required number of trees...shrubs is 11 for the front.

Interesting.

The other interesting caveat in the CC&R's is the requirement for the homeowner to replace any tree, shrub, or plant which has died.

Our ficus had died this year too. This was the second time. My husband pulled it and replaced it with another tree. Then I get a letter about the dead tree. We never have any weeds and we were just hoping the tree would come back and he was deciding what to replace it with since a ficus would just die again in a freeze.

I called her about this letter when the neighbors yards are covered in weeds and we get a letter for a tree he replaced. She said we didn't even need to replace it with another tree. We just couldn't have a dead tree. I also believe you just need to have 11 alive plants and it looks like you can also have as many weeds as you want because they are common here is RED. I am assuming this is acceptable because it is green and alive and therefore, if you have 11 weeds....you are probably ok.
