Alert | Not only does this show that no school is free from issues but choosing a school for its sports teams may not be a better choice either. It looks like he was getting help but not soon enough.
This is a sad commentary on our society, not any one school in general. When young boys and girls have to turn to drugs to try and feel good we as adults need to look at the way we are conducting ourselves and how we are leading our children into the real world .
17 years old and gone forever.
Heroin killed Valley Christian football player Veronica Sanchez 12 News Nov. 20, 2007 10:53 PM
Danny Pasanella was a star football player, but off the field he was addicted to a dangerous drug, according to a report by the East Valley Tribune.
The 17-year-old died September 21 at home. He was a student and athlete at Valley Christian High in Chandler. The report in the East Valley Tribune claims the teenager was battling his addiction and even graduated from a rehab program in 2006.
Apparently the fight was too much for him. His coach is quoted in the paper as saying that he tried to get Pasanella off of drugs and also tried introducing him to "young Christian people" but he slipped back into the habit.
According to a National Survey of Drug Use and Health, nearly 38 million Americans 12 years or older have tried heroin at one point. 1.4 percent of 8th, 10th and 12th graders have used heroin in their lifetime. | | | |
