I have realized how low the SPED is on supplies for their classes and programs. I am trying to come up with an idea to help get some of the stuff they need, that would bring an interest to the community - that way they can have more than people's throw-aways, which I don't think they are getting much of anyway.

I have been throwing around the idea of a silent auction or a rumage sale or even a supply-drive. What would you be more interested in participating in?. . . Keep in mind, a rumage sale also needs people willing to PURCHASE.

If you are a business owner, would you be willing to donate? Daycares could provide 'a night out', other service people could provide services, retail could provide gift baskets or gift certificates. . . this would be for a silent auction.

If you are not a business, would you be willing to participate in purchasing? If we included a pay-for hot-chocolate bar, would you come for THAT, and look at the silent auction stuff?

Just throwing ideas out there. I have not started work on this, but am willing to if I can get interest. Please PM me, or post here if you think this is something you would be willing to participate in either as a business or an interested community member.

I would donate to a supply drive maybe you could do more than one of the things you are talking about.

I know there was a supply drive that was posted here a week or so ago that got very little attention.

Contact the local Chanber of Commerce. You should be able to get excellent results from member businesse's using that approach. Good Luck!

I spoke with Mr. Santillian this evening and he is interested in the fundraiser. He is working on getting permission, a location and a date. I am now looking for committee members to help me. If you are interested please PM me. THANKS
