Nice article Eddie. I agree wholeheartedly. My son and I support the local football teams and it sure would be nice to have more support for these programs. WIthout these programs, our kids would not have a positive outlet. It is imperative that we supply the sports programs with basic needs, ice and water of all things. Eddie is right, ice is a must have, not an optional piece of the package.

Eddie, please continue your support of the sports programs. Your efforts arent going unnoticed!

Great article! I hope this makes the board take notice. My daughter was hurt last year at a game and there was no ice to be found. This has been an ongoing problem with an easy fix. I would think that the well being of students would always be a top priority.

I can't believe they don't have something as basic as ice. When I taught in a preschool we had ice!

I cannot believe those kids do not have access to ice! This is 2007! I understand we reside in a rural area, but come on! No ice? non-functioning scoreboard? If I were a student participating in a sport there, I imagine I would feel very let-down... to say the least. High school years should be some of the best years of your life, filled with great memories ... must be pretty embarassing when you can't even offer a visiting team ice & your scoreboard doesn't work. Is there a booster club for the football team?... maybe they can have a garage sale to raise funds, like the cheer booster club has planned. Just seems like the district doesn't really care about our kids & that is very sad.

Yes there is a great booster club for the football team. I see them at every game working hard. However it is my opinion that a booster club should exist to enhance and provide wish list items for a team. Not to provide the basics that keep our children safe. I will be emailing every member of the board to ask for or see if there are plans for, an ice machine and basic first aid supplies. I hope if anyone else sees this as a problem, you will do the same.

Thanks for the heads up Jaynie- I agree wholeheartedly. It should not be up to the booster club to provide the basics ... that is the district's responsibility. Our kids deserve much better than what they currently have. Come on MUSD, do right by our kids!!

This why too all sports at copa turns over their coaches about every other year. If their not supporting the kids their surely are not supporting the coaches.
