Alert | Schools cannot ask parents to send in extra money. That is what we pay taxes for. As far as I know, it is against the law to send a flyer home asking for more money...
Fundraisers are a way from getting around this, so the school can receive money from the parents. It is unfortunate that the school sees very little money from these, but every little bit helps. I am sure if the school was concerned with how little they do receive they would prefer not to have fundraisers.
It is also a way for the children whose parents cannot afford to send in $5 for extra things, to be able to participate because they are able to sell to people who are a little more financially capable.
As said before, fundraisers are a necessary evil. And now we are beating a dead horse. | | Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference. Unknown
