Here is the volunteer coordinator's info off of MUSD's Website : Margaret Jackson District Volunteer Coordinator Phone 520-568-5170x2209 or you can go to the new website and look under the heading of departments and click on volunteers and the info will come up for each schools' coordinator. Don't know what rules the district is enforcing this year for volunteers as far as fingerprint card and background checks. Let us all know what you find out.

WOW...I just followed my own advice and clicked on opportunities on MUSD's volunteer page. Do you know that MUSD must be the most blessed place on this earth as every single one of their schools lists, "Currently no volunteers are needed." I have never heard of a school that didn't need volunteers in some capacity. What's up with this?

here's a thought, maybe they should get a volunteer to call the potential volunteers back!

I, too, would like to volunteer.   Wonder if we could discuss this with the teachers themselves who say they have no aides.    Surely we could at least help with some things in the classroom.     I would like to tutor any child that may be a little behind in reading, spelling etc.    Anyone know a teacher who may need some help?

As an alternative - wish there were a volunteer site to post those who are in need  and perhaps get connected with those who could help.     As a senior citizen, I'm betting there are more like me who have some time and would like to give back to the community.    CJ

My child goes to Santa Rosa and at meet the teacher night we got a folder from the PTO and information about committing 2 hours to volunteering. Also our teacher had a questionaire about what capacity we'd like to volunteer in the classroom.

I remember last year getting information sent home about volunteer orientations and it was a few weeks after school started. There is a process of attending the orientation and being fingerprinted and such.

Santa Cruz has not set up there volunteer meeting yet. As soon as a time and date are made I will be calling all the volunteers that turned in there form saying they were interested. I know there are lots of teachers that could use help so if anyone is interested in helping at Santa Cruz please let me know and I can get your information.

Butterfield is having their Volunteer Training meeting on Thursday night. I am not positive of the time, but if you call the school, I am sure they can tell you. I think tomorrow night I should be able to find out and update the message on here. Also, Wednesday night there is a PTO meeting at 6pm at Butterfield. We had a great response to the first meeting, but we will be needing a lot of help, I am sure!

I would like to volunteer by helping student(s) who may need a little extra time with reading, English, spelling  (not math!).    If you can send me any info or a form to fill in, it would be most appreciated - thanks - Carol G.   cj7444@orbitelcom.com

You can go to www.maricopausd.org and then go to department and then to volunteer program and then fill out the online form. You can list what school you want to volunteer at and then they will get your email and follow up with you.
