Alert | I have applied three times for numerous positions at MUSD. Everyday I check their website and the job openings are still there. I don't understand why I haven't even gotten a letter stating the position has been filled. NOTHING! I have previous experience with the Tempe School District and am willing to take P/T; even temporary, just to get my foot in the door. School has started and their are numerous positions to be filled. What is going on there? Can anyone give me some insite on why this is happening? Regardless if I get a chance to interview or not, it is appropriate to send a letter stating either the position has been filled.

Alert | Have you followed up, or are you just waiting? If you haven't called and asked/followed up at least three times you must not really be interested! Make them remember your name.

Alert | I have left more messages than I care to count; emailed both the HR dept and even had a former Supt of schools in Casa Grande make a call for me, who has been a personal friend for years. I'm frustrated!

Alert | | Ugh. I'm sure the schools are beyond hectic at the moment, but at the very least a generic, non-commital response would take 30 secs of someone's time. I don't think that's too much to ask. Keep trying mychoice, and good luck!

Alert | mychoice, Have you tried being a substitute in the district? Sometimes that can get your foot in the door. It also gives you a chance to see the people at the different schools in action. Just a thought. Call the substitute coordinator and see if you get any response going that route. Good luck!

Alert | I do not have my teachers certificate. I was career tech for special needs children in the tempe district. The funding was for only one year program, I knew that going in, but it was the most rewarding experience of my life. We taught kids from group homes, special needs, etc how to live on their own. We made trips to Walmart with shopping lists, utility companies, showed the children how to make change, etc.. I can figure out why funds can't be distributed for something like this. Anyway, I will keep trying and thanks for all the support.

Alert | Commited? Are you serious? I called again today and finally got through to one of the HR people. I talked to her for some time and asked her several questions regarding the criteria of the hiring process. She told me that my name sounded "familiar" and that she would look into it and get back to me today. Guess What? It's 5:30 and I have not heard a thing. My point is that my bad experience has to reflect on the school district. I am sure I am not the only one frustruated. Also, if they don't deem me qualified or suitable for the position, that's ok, all I ask is that I be let known by email, letter or even a courtesy call. I have 10 years of HR experience and this is the worst scenerio of a school district I have ever encountered.

Alert | I don't want to scare you, just let you know what you are getting into.
The current HR director used to be the Sped director.
Scary eh?
Both departments have been and still are under-performing as you so plainly describe.
I hope that the districts' lack of competence in both areas doesn't discourage you. h kids need and deseerve good quality help. Keep knocking, you will eventually get through the wood. | | Anyone who advocates a "one" world government, a "one" social order, or a "one" enviroment is a communist trying to take away your freedoms. Alert | Oh yeah,
Keep in mind that if you wanted to make the school board aware they would not allow you to speak as they have a policy that nothing derogatory can be said about any district employee at a board meeting.
Any wonders why they claim not to be aware of problems? | | Anyone who advocates a "one" world government, a "one" social order, or a "one" enviroment is a communist trying to take away your freedoms. Nature celebrates diversity!

Maybe they only hire high school graduated to become director of their fincances?

Alert | The district is hiring highly qualified teachers. It isn't even enough to have just a college degree. You must have also followed all the proper channels with the state edu dept. As far as being notified that you are "not qualified" or a "position has been filled" I don't understand why you are complaining. If they wanted you they would have called you. The teaching field is getting more and more competitive. I just called NASA back and they said they would let me know (I know how you feel). I guess the best you can do is take richtigs advice and walk away from such rude people who won't tell you what you already know....you are not qualified......

Alert | | OpenYourEyes: if your application was a poorly written as your posts on here my guess is they had no idea what you were applying for, or at the least were embarrassed to have you as even a bus driver. | | One of President Bush's top economic advisers said Sunday "that parts of the country probably already are experiencing a recession..."
