Just a quick reminder that the 1st Annual Holidays of the World event will be held at Pacana Park on Saturday, December 8 from 6pm to 9pm. We will have 30 tons of snow for the kids to play in, some awesome vendors to shop from to find unique Holiday gifts (Pottery, original works of art, candles, hand bags and more) for that special someone in your life. You can also participate in our special lakeside illuminare with your family. We will have local folks selling hot chocolate, cider, and popcorn for a nominal fee and we'll have some cool Holiday Dance Performances from Maricopa Dance Academy and Desert Sun Performing Arts.

Then to make the night even more special we are going to have our first-ever movie in the park on our new stage and 25-foot wide screen: THE POLAR EXPRESS! Bring your chairs and blankets and get ready for a new holiday tradition in Maricopa!

Thanks,

Marty

As the organizer of the event, I do feel that it’s my duty to make responsible and moral decisions that impact the overall welfare and safety of potential event attendees. I, along with Sports Coordinator David Aviles, inspected the grounds at Pacana Park at 10:30pm tonight. The fields were puddling and with with more rain expected throughout the night and in the morning as well as temperatures in the low 40s/high 30s, the odds were stacked against us. Therefore, we made the decision to call off the event. We also had concerns about the dirt parking lot being a mud bog in certain areas. We are doing this with a heavy heart as we looked forward to the event with 30 tons of snow, Santa, Holiday Dance performances, the Polar Express movie and some great vendors!! Bottom line, we do not want to see a bunch of people getting sick right before the holidays.

Thanks,
Marty
